WMC should decide to pull out of HK Open. She will be too tired for SEA Games in Korat, starting 6 December. She needed a break badly and she need to rest her injured knee too. I pledge to Wong TM/YKH to pull WMC out of HK Open... give the poor girl a break, she is human, not machine. Afterall winning China Open title and beating the No. 1, No.2, No.3 and No.6 seeds in the world ranking is indeed an impressive task, not forgetting on their very own turf.

i agree with you. she should consider pulling out from HK open. she needs a break. she can now conentrate in bringing more glory to our country during Sea Games in Korat. :)

well, at least Malaysia won an event. It has been a long long long long.... time since the last person won a ss event like tournament. Well done to WMC. Lei Hou yeh!!! Keep up the good work.

Two Versions - The Laws Of Badminton

Laws of Badminton - International Version
17. OFFICIALS AND APPEALS
17.1 The Referee shall be in overall charge of the tournament or event of which a match forms part.
17.2 The umpire, where appointed, shall be in charge of the match, the court and its immediate surrounds. The umpire shall report to the Referee.
17.3 The service judge shall call service faults made by the server should they occur (Law 9.1).
17.4 A line judge shall indicate whether a shuttle landed ‘in’ or ‘out’ on the line(s) assigned.
17.5 An official’s decision shall be final on all points of fact for which that official is responsible except that if, in the opinion of the umpire, it is beyond reasonable doubt that a line judge has clearly made a wrong call, the umpire shall overrule the decision of the line judge.
17.6 An umpire shall:
17.6.1 uphold and enforce the Laws of Badminton and, especially, call a ‘fault’ or a ‘let’ should either occur;
17.6.2 give a decision on any appeal regarding a point of dispute, if made before the next service is delivered;
17.6.3 ensure players and spectators are kept informed of the progress of the match;
17.6.4 appoint or replace line judges or a service judge in consultation with the Referee;
17.6.5 where another court official is not appointed, arrange for that official’s duties to be carried out;
17.6.6 where an appointed official is unsighted, carry out that official’s duties or play a ‘let’;

Of course, the makers of the laws didn't envision a scenario in which the umpire and the line-judges are partners-in-crime :D

WoW, INA grabbed 2 titles in SS tournament for the first time. And first SS title for both Kindra and Nova/Lilyana. Well done and keep moving to next stop, HKG SS!

Once again, unexpected result for China WS squad. WMC fighting spirit is so amazing, her fairytale story in Panda Land similar with Tine Rasmussen happy ending episode in Tokyo. Yeah, MAS must be proud of her. Congratulations!

Overall, seems this CHN SS is full of controversy, hopefully next time should be better and more professional...

I believe this win is a classic for WMC. One a life time possibly. Beating so many top players on the way to victory at their own turf is no easy feat. Lets do the dance. (Seen Evan Almighty?). You cool?

About XD, I'm happy that Sudket/Saralee are back in the mix. Did the disappear for a while or were they just unsuccessful getting into later rounds?

Unfortunately, the bad line calls undermine the entire game and also one's assessment of the players' performances. When one player is leading and loses his focus owing to bad line calls, the opponent's 'performance' from that point onwards does not reflect his real form. A player's form and performance in a match is relative to his/her opponent's performance. If his/her opponent does not lose focus and can execute smart game plan with good attacking and defending skills, the player's performance may not be as great. The fact that BCL started to pick up successive points after several bad line calls that affected LCW's concentration is not only unfair to LCW. It is also unfair to BCL, because it makes it impossible for one to judge the true performance and form of BCL. We cannot say that he was in smashing form or was performing superbly when LCW's loss of concentration does not allow the latter to perform well. Had LCW's performed well, BCL might or might not perform as well as what he did. So the fact that LCW has been prevented from performing his best in such an unfair manner makes any assessment of BCL's performance unjustified.

Well said, but some ppl just couldn't see it...
