I fall somewhere around intermediate, I guess ... (probably somewhere below!). My footwork isn't what it used to be and I could really use some serious work on my clears, and backhand. But if enthusiasm counts for anything ... Oh, that's pretty rough! I hope everyone finds something. Ely should be easier: Littleport is quite small I guess. See you Saturday!
Coaching in the UK - Accommodation problems! Hi Guys It seems like a few of you attending the LIBA Badminton workshops starting this weekend are having some problems finding somewhere to stay. Well, I guess Littleport is not called Little Port for nothing Try doing a search for B&Bs in Ely. It's not too far away. Also, if you want to try a search for B&Bs in Mildenhall I can give you a lift ( or you can follow me if you are driving ) to the Littleport Sports Centre. In any event email me if you are stuck. We can sort something out. Best regards Skates
Dill, Afraid not matey. Cant get there, perhaps next year when he kicks off with all the courses i'll pop up and help him / see you. Matt

Coaching in the UK Just got back from Day Two of the LIBA Badminton Workshops. You will be pleased to learn that all the Forum members played very well and trained very hard! Yesterday Lee Jae Bok challenged Sunny to play a rally of five shots with him. If Sunny can keep in the rally for five shots he wins Lee Jae Bok's favourite racket. Sunny did the workshop today and is still using his own racket. He He Lee Jae Bok has too much deception. Batgirl was partnered with Young Sook Lee ( Ex korean National Ladies Champion ) in a mini tournament. Batgirl was outstanding. Today the workshop concentrated on singles tactics. We also did footwork drills and shot selection and technique. We had a slightly higher level of player on the course today so the physical work was harder. I am now going for a little rest Skates
HARDER!?!?! It was hard enough on Sat. I got cramps 'cos I was working so hard! Good job I only did the one day! (See you guys in Wigan! )
Wow, the last two days have been quite amazing. The workshops were excellent, very well organised and run. I was certainly challenged, both in terms of fitness level (hmm) and mentally. The standard and intensity definitely increased on the second day, and having deconstructed various parts of my "game" over the weekend, I did have a couple of demotivated moments at my resulting lack of skill. But I know that it's important to take a few steps backwards sometimes in order to advance, and I know that if I can keep using and developing the concepts and skills of the last couple of days then I should be a much stronger player at the end of it. Phew! I highly recommend the workshops though! Thanks, Skates. I think you're far far too kind! It was amazing to have the chance to play with Young Sook though. Made me feel truly humble! Thanks, Skates, for helping to organise the workshops in our corner of the country. Sunny, I hope that day three is going well...
I remember when i done my course (Skates can back me up here), it was a week and involved absolutely everything, including fitness and then endurance running right after a tournament. Once we had finished the days training, i would go home and have a shower to find that on EVERY single toe i had a bit of skin coming off where the training was so tough (and they were nice showers too!! I think skates stayed at a B&B or was that James who done that?) Anyway, once we done that, we went for our dinner sometimes with Lee, sometimes not and then after that straight to the bar till night time. Lee would even come with us and socialise, and yes he beat me at pool im ashamed to say. If you really want to make the most of these courses, they are the best things to do. I done it and it was probably the best 'holiday' so far. Like i say skates can back me up here, and we definately all need to meet up as a ''reunion''
Was he the only one to beat you? I agree though it was an excellent course and it was held at a really good venue as well.
No comment The thing was, it was a difficult pot on the black and we were playing for a pair of socks (!!), and i managed to get a nice angle, but it rattled in the jaws and sat nicely for Lee, so he managed to win (and beat me at an arm wrestle too!), I got some pics from the course i may put in... Unfortunately i didnt manage to play Skates, i'm sure he would have beat me tho!
Dill, Of course, Lee has his own branded equipment so anything we done it was to win a pair of socks, alot cheaper than a racket i spose!!
Should have played for one ofthose shiny blue tracksuits with the academy crest onthe back of the jacket
Batgirl, Day three went well and myself and richard won a T-Shirt in a mini tournament. I managed to attend fourth day as well and it was good fun. Fourth day was even harder and we learned deception. But myself and Young sook lost the mini tournament to richard and jonno. I was gutted because I let down legendary Young Suk. She took it easily but after three days I still couldn't get over it. I hope I get a chance to play with her again and we will try to beat richard and jonno. I heared there is another workshop in cambridge end of this month and I will be attending that too.
Dill, oh yesss. It is very very hard. On sunday after a very good lunch we had 30 mins of real hard warm-up. Simon Archer mentioned in a video... "You have got to be prepared for very hard physical training when you get onto the court for training with Lee Jae Bok" I may attend glaxo workshop but I'm still not sure though. If I attend glaxo workshop I will meet you there
