Since the linejudge is unsighted, refer to Hawk-Eye

Damn, there was a point awarded to AY by mistake, at 7-5

What? Umpire gave a free point to Akane. When 5-7 down, Sindhu won a point. Umpire made a mistake calling "service over" and changed the scores to 6-7 , then realising her mistake , she changed the score to 8-6 but did not change it to 5-8 .
    What a terrible umpire

The "slaying" Sindhu came on court today, let's hope it's her who comes on court tomorrow

That was a really awkward game. Akane clearly saving her energy

    Not trying much really

Would be really funny if she is drawn against Sindhu tomorrow

Why couldn’t TTY make the cut to SF? Is it just 2 could qualify from the group, unlike the previous editions of SSF?

I guess that's the thing with Group stages matches.

Players will often chose to not give too much energy rather than arrive in SF wasted.

Still remember TTY last year losing pretty easily her match against Sung Ji Hyun in their last group stage match before beating her in two straights games in the final

Juhl/ Pedersen also seemingly saving their energy against Fukushima/ Hirota, both of them being already qualified for the SF. Which is probably a wise idea

And probably the same for Boe/ Mogensen, suffering a two straight sets defeat against Zang Nan, but both already qualified

It's always been the top 2 of each group.

TTY is third. CY is second. Ratchanok is first .

TTY would have needed to win a game off Ratchanok, OR win in straigh games against Chen Yufei, OR that Ratchanok wins her match against Chen Yufei (which she lost)

Is it? Back in 2015, a final table (combining by the groups) would be made and the top 4 in that would march into SF. I vaguely remember, I could be wrong

    Yeah that was scandalous umpiring..

Like when she said service over ? was it really service over? then suddenly AY got the ghost point and her points become 6.

Such is the obviousness that we doubted ourselves whether our count was right or wrong and i just watched the match into a minute lol. After that i dont watch anymore so i happen to watch that scandalous points. thats all.

Umpire like Akane it seems. Giving free point to her. One point can make a match or break a match. How could she be so careless?

Still so fast and dominant. Always a pleasure to watch LCW when he plays like this.

We know AY, she played finals after finals of SS tourneys, everybody expected her to run Outta steam which she didn't. Lost a bit touch to "exhaustness" only when she reached another SF at HKG

She has the biggest stamina jug, there's no way it was about "saving energy". Either she wanted to desperately avoid CYF which I doubt, or it was just an off day.
PS PVS was on fire today, even without those bizzare errors from AY, the scoreline wouldn't have been even close

When LCW is winning, he is not just winning, he is humiliating.
