I believe visor was being sarcastic :D
And it's not true that you need to be outwardly expressive to boost any of your abilities.

You can be as cool as ice and win against the very best out there - Yang Yang, Morten Frost, Hendra Setiawan are examples.
And perhaps the greatest example that comes to mind is Kim Dong-moon.

I know where visor is coming from :p. My point is to emphasize this is part of sport science and is proven useful especially in high level competitions and in an intense match situation, hence nothing wrong if an athlete showboating and arrogant.

Different athletes will have different approach towards how they want to boost their own psychology (self-belief & confidence), court awareness and fighting spirit. Some athletes can be as cool as ice  but some others just can't stay quiet .

When I was young (around Kevin's age), I represented my country in tennis and I used to behave like him to lift my confidence and fighting spirit. :D.

    Cheers Oldhand :).

there is this guy in our local gym who would invite ladies to play with him and he would cheer every time he wins a rally.

all the ladies thinks he is such an idiot.

Another step in the right direction from Markus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, after they beat Kim Gi Jung/Kim Sa Rang in 3-sets today. With Kevin in the pair, they will be definitely more successful than Angga/Ricky who I believe will need to be split post-Olympics. If they can beat Kamura/Sonodo tomorrow, they will be ranked above Angga/Ricky by next week and just below the top 10!

If they win over Kamura/Sonoda today they will rank no.11, and overtake Angga/Ricky for sure. Their H2H record against the Japanese pair is 1-0.

I hope for Thomas Cup they will play as Indonesia 2nd pair, I am looking forward to this.

New high for Gideon/Kevin, they are ranked no.12 as week 21-2016.

They rank above Angga/Ricky for the first time. Keep on fighting Gideon/Kevin! Will see both of you in top 10 real soon.

With only 1 year and 2 months of partnership, Kevin/Markus looking to be in Top 10 and one step to winning their second SS.

Indonesia need more players like Kevin Sukamulyo.

Too bad, (if I am not mistaken), there was a junior partner of Kevin who was believed to be equally good if not better than Kevin but he was injured and never played anymore.

Indonesian player like Kevin is Praveen Jordan who has variative and sometimes unexpected play. Also good power.

I wrote in my post here a few months ago that I thought Kevin/Gideon is mismatch pairing but looking at it now, it seems that they have developed their own style and looks good.

Their defence have improved a lot.

When Gideon was partnered with Kido, Gideon was just so so. But now being partnered with Kevin, we can see that Gideon is much more willing to fight for the point and give his 110% for Kevin.

Although I don't like Kevin's sometimes arrogant and frankly disrespectful attitude on court, I must say that he's a blast to watch. Alright from the back court and extremely quick in both movement of raquet and body at the front. Gideon doesn't have the best looking technique but he's very atlethic and doesn't give away much.

Kevin is still only 20 so I think once he gets a bit more experienced this pair could have huge potential. They are just getting better and better and could pose a huge threath to top pairs.

Kevin's actually known to be humble off court and hardworking on court. His attitude off court is very different of what people might mistaken of him. That aside, playing psy-war is already a tradition for us when facing our neighboring rival. I recalled how I used to hate Ong Ewe Hock's exactly same alleged psy-game, fist pumping and showboating whenever he's playing our players in important events especially in one incident with Ardy BW. OEH will be remembered as one of the most obnoxious antagonist ever lol.
