As predicted, Kevin/Marcus won't participate in the Badminton Asia Championships 2018. Marcus is preparing his wedding slated for April 15th.
Yes of course, wedding is more important. It (supposedly) is only a once in a life time event while Asia Championships is held annually. Or the other way around? XD And when they said they were going to focus straight on Thomas cup, I presumed they meant to skip NZ and Australian Open too?
Yup. They'll just go to Thomas Cup. The wedding, honeymoon & prep for the Thomas will absolutely take much time. I hope Marcus' play will still improve after he's married .
Maybe because he hasn't won any gold yet. While LinDan has pretty much won everything that he needed to win and he thought worth defending. Double players shouldn't be that noticeable because they are just one half of the team, I hope. It is not funny at all If Marcus started to decline just when they are about to reach their career peak for a few too many shots inbetween.
Gideon may learn from Fu Haifeng who already married and have a child before the year he won Olympic 2012 Gold Medal...
On the contrary, that exactly said everything about Kevin on court. How he always fights and takes every match like how he would regardless the result they have achieved up until that point. People always complain about his attitude or his behavior (some said out of arrogance, some said out of too much self-confident because they were winning) but actually his attitude toward every match never changes even though they have reached the no.1 in the world. He isn't like that because they had been winning but he is like that because every match counts and matters to them as much as the final matches. It pissed me off a lot when people disliking his attitude or behavior because they thought he didn't take the opponent or tournaments seriously or because he was being arrogant for winning all the time. I just had a lot of heated argument with some Japanese in a channel recently over this. I don't have any problem if some disapprove his behavior on court, but if they doubted his sincerity or sportmanship or whatever, I just can't stay quiet. Anyway, I think a bit of arrogance is necessary for the players to keep their confidence at the highest especially on court. You don't want to show your weakness to your opponent. Just one moment of uncertainty and the opponent spots it, you are out of the match in no time. Badminton competition especially in this international level isn't a place for weaklings. No matter how good your skill and physical ability are, if you can't stand on your ground on the court you can never go far. Too little or too much of confidence can cost you a match.
I just watch some clip of their interview with CNN indonesia and when kevin being asked to describe himself with one word, he said "ambitious"
Well-said, mate! Kevin said that he's ambitious, and Marcus said Kevin had high self confidence. Meanwhile, Kevin said Marcus was hardworker and persistent. Btw, more shower of bonus for Kevin from his club & sponsors.
so much money for hitting a dead goose's feathers. What purpose does it serve to humanity? There are soldiers on the border who don't make 1/4th of that. I would like to meet this Kevin $ $ guy and make him aware of the guilt he should carry.
Btw this K$$ dude has been gossiped to close not only to one but two ex miss Indonesia. I hope his young blood didn't ruin his career
Though as a man, its better he is with some miss Indonesia rather than some legendary you know who athlete that marries badminton player but ended up cheating her with other artist.
