Give you two clues.

1) the picture was taken in HK
2) the person won third place in a World Championship (won't tell you which one!)

(This is a tricky one :p )

who is the another Manaiky?
aiyah sorry i've forgotten :D

Rexy Mainaky.

I don't think the guy in the picture is Marleve, though I could easily be mistaken.

Question on the 2nd hint: did he win WC 3rd place in singles, doubles or mixed doubles?

Another Mainaky is Rony.

Hmm, good try but no cigar! :p

Alright, I'm feeling generous so the subhint is that this person's WC 3rd placing was in mixed doubles.

haha, I know this is a tough one. We don't see this person too often on TV.

Must be hard if Kwun gets it wrong  (he managed to recognise Xie Xing Fang's in less than 30secs last time)

OK, so the World Champs in question was 1987...

Is he from Hong Kong? I remember there was a guy only second best to Si Yu in MS in Hong Kong, but he was quite sucessfull in XD with Chan Lin Chee.

P.S. I don't know the correct spelling of "Si Yu" and "Chan Lin Chee".

From China, Fujian province. His XD partner was Chan Lim Chee, from HK.

Sze Yu was also from China, his father also a famous coach in China. Sze Yu was probably a better singles player than Chan Chi Choi as they were for some time consistently #1 and #2 singles players in HK.

aha..although the picture was "taken" in HK, does that mean the person actually represented HK nearly 20 years ago?;)

Errrm... I think there is no Rony in Mainaky family. I know the family members consist of
1. Richard M (mixed double coach in Indo)
2. Rexy M (double coach in Malaysia)
3. Marleve M (still plays in single sometimes)
4. Karel M
5. Reony M (not Rony)

5th WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, 1987

Mixed Doubles

1. Wang Pengren and Shi Fangjing (CHN)

2. Deuk Choon Lee and Myeong Hee Chung (KOR)

3. Martin Dew and Gillian Gilks (ENG)

He Y. and Yang X. (CHN)
