i want to address the recent unrest that sprouted out in different discussions in the forum.
BadmintonCentral started as a small humble website. in the beginning, a group of badminton affectionate gathered together to talk about the sport we love, badminton. since the number of members were small, everybody discussed in a harmonious manners. BC thus thrived to be one of the most respected site on badminton.
fast forward a few years, BC have grown so big we are now composed of a amazingly diverse group of Badminton fans. diversity also comes at a cost, conflicts are more common due to differences in belief as well as differences in communication styles.
despite so, our values and standards still holds. we want to see rational, respectful and well mannered discussions in BC. if you want to voice your disagreement, then do it in a polite way. if you use harsh words, the moderators will absolutely not tolerate it. we have banned upwards of 20 members in the past few weeks for directly insulting other members. if you tell us that's the way you are, then i am afraid you are not fit for this community.
having said that, 99% of the members are well mannered. only the 1% bad oranges spoils it for the rest of us.
so:
- think before you post.
- write your post in a mature, rational, and polite way.
- read your message and ask yourself if you want to be in the receiving end of it.
- respect each other's viewpoint, only then will they respect yours.
and lastly:
- write in proper English, and English only.
