Hong Kong Open Day2 Pic

Hey...isn't that Indra Gunawan coaching the unknown Caucasian player over there  I thought he went to Malaysia again?

Unfortunately, I am still tied up in Singapore due to some personal matters...and it's increasingly unlikely for me to return back to HKG before the semi-finals. I do hope to return back on Friday in time to catch the semis and finals

Meanwhile, I just have to be contented with watching the Singapore Satelitte later this afternoon.

He is still with KLRC... i think he is just giving some pointers to Andrew Smith.

Red, what beautiful pics you've taken! Thanks for sharing with us. Can you give some hints as to how you took them? Did you use manual or program mode? What are your settings. And what make of camera and lens? I confess I'm asking too much already!

Thanks Loh.
Those pictures were taken with a Canon 20D with 70-200mm F2.8L, 50mm F1.4, 17-40mm F4L. I was using manual mode all the time and shooting in continues mode. Meanwhile, I set the AF mode to "One shot". I prefer using "One shot" to "AI Servo" when shooting baddy pictures. But with that AF mode. My right hand index finger would be very busy!

Then which country they represent actually???:D
If it's D. Shirley and Ms. Quay partnering up, then it's NZ & MAS...
If it's T. Gunawan and C. Wijaya partnering up, then it's USA & INA...
Both pairs don't have "1 country representation"..;)

ahh, i see, thanks for sharing that info..One more question from me:since you are using 3 different lenses, are you only using the Canon 20D as the sole camera body??..If so, then you must've change the lenses quite often then..

Only when he moves position. Say most of the shots are from afar, then he'll use the 70-200 lens.

When he gets to near court, he'll use the 50 or the 17-40 lens. 70-200 that close by would be difficult to use. It's not like during one match he'll be running up and downstairs 10 times. Mind you, if he could do that, then I would think he would be able to chase the shots I give him when we play together;) hehe

More from day 2. sorry it took so long!

Any LCW fans out there?

Tony and Minarti get a lot of respect but they just can't quite keep up with the pace.

This 1st pic of Tony is out of focus. Ohh, but what an amazing shot. He was standing on the right side of the court receiving a straight smash. He did a backhand return and directing it cross court to his left side. The Thais were left standing. The crowd gave a "uhhh" of appreciation for that shot.

Playing back at home is not easy with all the expectations. Look at the desperate disappointment after losing. The bag is practically dragged open across the court at the end of the match.

Cheung, you're an expert photographer now! Did you use the same equipment as Red? Your pics come out much darker and stronger in colour.

If you want more tips from Red, don't make him run too much on the court1
