I think it was more lack of energy. Afterall he was still enjoying himself! Back during his lazy period, he'd usually look like he didn't even want to be there. Yeah that's what I mean. It's so much better seeing him like this than the old Taufik .
The second game became a no-contest. To be honest, the sheer beauty of watching these two players (or perhaps Lin Dan and Peter Gade) facing each other makes up for small duration match. Hope both these players come to India next year for India Open.
I like the way Taufik contributes to the badminton world now. He's playing more competitive badminton than Lin Dan and does not give any excuses for losing or withdrawing. He did not even complain of "being tired because there's just too many tournaments, etc", the usual excuses given by the CHN players lately (including Lin Dan and Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun). To him, winning or losing doesn't really matter anymore.
yeah at his age.. It was good achievement for him to reach final of this event... I hope he still could give a good performance at final SS later..
For me, it doesn't matter TH lost or win in this Final. The only disappointment is not so much beautiful match displayed. Only first game represent them well.
It's true.. He should also manage time for family.. He already has 2 children to be taught playing badminton..
Yeah, that's unfortunate after such a great WS final. TH went for it in the opener fully knowing his own physical condition. And when it became apparent TH had nothing left in the 2nd, it didn't become such a good match to watch anymore
BTW, did anyone noticed that TH reply to the crowd that cheering on him at 6-16? He did it like he is about to win the game
I saw that.. but I think he didn't give any sign about winning the game, given the score at that time..
