Who do you think is better? 2
    Younger, Fasterer, Stronger
    Whose style is better? 2
Lefty, with speed and power, more advantageous
Who do you like more? 1
Very close, but I'd rather play PG, as he does less annoying things than LD...plus PG really loves badminton, you know it's not really the money as the prize money doesn't go that far in Denmark as it would in China.
    Whose smash is stronger? 2
I'd say they are about the same in speed, but LD can seem to do it at any angle and position.
    Whose defense is better? Tie
can't really say one is better than the other
    Whose offense is better? 2
LD same reason as answer 1 and 2 and is much better in the flat game (drives, drops but I give PG the nod on hairpin drops)
My add on question is Whose better under pressure? Tie
before athens I'd give it to LD, but after the fact I'm just going with tie

I guess they are both weak under pressure.
I think that LinDan still cant be considered to be better than Gade. Gade was at rank#1 for 62 straight weeks during his prime. LinDan is at Rank#1 for 27straight weeks. He still has not beaten Gade's record.

Lin Dan's historical run of Grand Prix victories - without a single defeat - between september 2003 and april 2004 is already more than Gade has ever done! (and will ever do?)

And he has already proved at the Thomas Cup he is (sometimes) capable of performing under pressure...

Where Gade is clearly superior to Lin Dan is maturity and humility. (and sportsmanship?)

    Question update:
Will Peter Gade beat Lin Dan(Lin beats Gade 5-1 so far)?
Will Gade win a championship if Lin Dan's in the same competition?
Will Gade hold his no2 spot in the rankings?
Will Gade regain his 100% strength like before?
Will Gade win in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing?

answer 1 for Peter Gade or answer 2 for Lin Dan
Who do you think is better?
    Whose style is better?
    Who do you like more?
    Whose smash is stronger?
    Whose defense is better?
    Whose offense is better?
    Who performs better under pressure?

    another question:-

    whos movement is better?

1 for gade 2 for lin dan

I'd say it's a tie as they both have unconsisitent movement. They change their footwork for the position they are in. Most players play like this but the likes of yang yang and zhao jianhua(especially) had very consistent movement. Gade flows more, like a dane, but lin dan is quicker and is more explosive.

I will also say that it is a tie. Dan moves really fast. Gade has longer legs that can make hime move with only few steps.

Someone mentioned that before Gade's injury he wasn't good either. I do not agree as he was simply number one from 99-01 and proved at by as mentioned before 62 weeks as number one. As seven has said has Gade suffered under a low or none excisting mental strengh when it comes to big tournaments. Let me take an example, the Olympics in Sydney where Gade met Ji Xinpeng who played magnificiently. Gade was very nervous and couldn't cope with the pressure in 1st set and lost 15-9 but the coach said in the break that it was now or never and Gade simply outplayed Ji 15-1 like he did with Fung Permadi in WC99. Then again he got nervous and lost. This really indicates that he was number one above all but did not have the mental strengh. Now he is mental stronger, but lacks a little in speed and offensive play compared to his former self.

ofcourse he will lack speed compared to other players today........everybody will be slower after their prime years.
