PBSI Official website press release : https://badmintonindonesia.org/app/information/newsDetail.aspx?/8856

    Jakarta (20/1202019)

Closing 2019, PP PBSI announced list of the badminton players who will become national team members for Pelatnas PBSI 2020. Based on SKEP / 106 / 0.3 / XII / 2019, PP PBSI has determined 105 players who will fill the main group (Utama) slots and back-ups (Pratama)..

This number is bigger than previous year, where there were 98 athletes in total.

A string of rookies filled the list of 2020 Pelatnas Pratama to meet PBSI's mission, nurturing and preparing the youngsters for continuous regeneration.

"There is a significant increasing number, especially for the pratama group. Last year the total number of national players was 98 athletes, this year growing to 105 athletes," Susy told Badmintoninndonesia.org.

"The consideration to recruit many young players, because we are screening potential talents to be groomed at the national training centre," Susy continued.

There are several names of senior players who are no longer registered in the national team, Susy said that there are some players who have officially resigned and want to choose professional career.

"There are some senior players who have resigned because they are unable to compete and can't fulfill PBSI target. They want to be independent player," Susy said.

Pelatnas players had been returned to their respective clubs starting December 16, 2019 and will resume training on January 6, 2020. But for those who will take part in the Malaysia Masters 2020 on second week of January, will return earlier as scheduled of their respective coaches.

Barring any huge changing/transformation/setbacks, Minions and Daddies will secure Tokyo 2020 berth.
No potential WD pair to fill the second slot.

I think this year (2019) is the best MD year in INA history. I dont think they ever sweep that many titles. I mean getting 5 titles will already be a great year nationally but they must have swept 11 out of 16SS? plus 1 WC and even 1 BAC silver.Of course 3 pairs in top 5 end of year is the proof they did really well. Think never happen in SS era even for Korea?

    Not easy to repeat.

One of finest years because we can't track the comprehensive data in 1990's or previous era when INA MD pairs had glorius days.
I agree, INA MD pairs really dominate BWF top tier scene and major event in this season, wishing the same luck in Tokyo 2020 as pinnacle of achievement.

Why not hire foreign coach for WS for INA?

We have seen CHN coach for INA Mens Volleyball team and they won gold in SEA games. And just now, NationalFootball team hire Korea Coach ShinTaeYong. He is actually the coach of SouthKorea during 2018 WorldCup and so yes, he has beaten Germany 2-0 before which is his biggest achievement.

A good idea but will it be necessary? Reony Mainaky isn't enough?

Yeah, the most severe is South Jakarta region. That New Year's flash flood isn't the peak of rainy season which BMKG (INA weather agency) predicting it would coming on mid February:eek::(

A bold decision by PBSI if their target to set Owi/Apri snatch one of Tokyo OG tickets where the remaining qualification period has only four months left.

Best MD match of the year AhsanHendra vs OuZhang @FCO , LiLiu vs Minions @JO . Also Minions vs EndoW @HKO is in my consideration as well.
