But, hey, I heard that in some Junior World Champs of soccer held a few yrs ago.. Indonesia got to the semis, or is it finals.. i don't know.. But, that may be a good chance, eh?? Hahaha, that's what my friend said, if I'm not mistaken... LOL

I'm doubted if Djarum still sponsored IndoSS because according BWF's web there is no title-sponsor for event's name.

Well as much as I hate to see a tournament loose a main sponsor, I think it is a good thing that it's not sponsored by Djarum. Doesn't anyone else think its wrong that a major sporting event is sponsored by a tobacco company? Badminton is the second most physically demanding sport in the world, (Waterpolo is first), and we have a "team Djarum"? What's wrong with this picture?:(

As much as I agree with you, unfortunately, Djarum is still the biggest sponsor for INA badminton. In fact, while PBSI is reluctant to send some players to the International scene, Djarum is the one who does. Come to think of it, I think is more fair to say that Djarum players supplement the PBSI players in international tournaments.

Djarum also has the oldest and most reputable badminton training center in INA - evidently, it has produced numerous international players...

What is so scary about Indonesia? The People? The Language? Crime? Polution:rolleyes: ? Badminton supporters?:D Badminton fans and supporters in Indonesia are not scary, soccer supporters are scarier, but they are no hooligans:D. But, yeah, their voice while supporting our players is a bit scary... Its like there was some kind of earthquake when I first watch Indo Open:cool:...

Anyway, does anyone know which busway route should I take from UI Salemba if I want to go to Istora? I know nothing about busway except that it makes the traffic jam worse:( ... Thx...

Well, at least for me, I've never been there, and I can't speak your language, so will be a bit hard to communicate I guess. Mei Ying has never been there before as well, but I guess it's better when we are two than only one.

Communication is a problem in Jakarta but if you know a local, you can depend on them to be a guide.

Well, if anyone needs someone to go from the airport or to the stadium, they can pm me.

Guys, I heard from PBSI officials yesterday that China will send all their top players to Indonesia Super Series 2007. I heard they will send as many as 6 players/pairs per category [if they qualify]. That's basically the whole team. :) So we can expect Zhang Ning, Xie Xinfang, Zhu Lin, Lu Lan, Jiang Yanjiao, Wang Lin etc... for WS. Lin Dan, Chen Yu, Chen Jin, etc. for MS.

I expect Malaysia to do the same because of our proximity. This will be a very tough Indonesian Open... :D Fun fun fun to watch...

WoW, CHN bdm stars attack Jakarta! Thx for your info (looks like you know PBSI insider, faster than media!). As I guessed before, CHN will participate with their first-class squad because they don't want miss SS tourney which provide huge prize-money and high ranking-point. And no reason actually for CHN to skip Indo SS this year after they compete in Singapore.

Yeah, also waiting the attendance of MAS/KOR and also DEN (doubtedly because their travel-warning/advise). Istora will be crowded soon...

Wooow, yan, mei ying's from M'sia right?? Can she talk in malay language?? If yes, she can communicate there.. And, hmm, Yan, you can ask that guy to bring you there.. Hehehehehes.. Maybe, if he has the time, which I doubt... Well, too bad I cnt be there when its Indo open.. :(

sugarfree, seems no busway direct-route from Salemba to GBK. You must use another public transportation such as regular bus (PPD) from Salemba to Halte Busway Bundaran HI (Thamrin). From HI you can go to Istora by Busway Koridor I and you will stop at Halte GBK. Easy route.

Other choice : take Busway Koridor V (Kp.Melayu-Ancol) at Halte UI until next stop Halte Senen. From Senen choose Busway Koridor II (Pulogadung-Harmoni) until HCB Harmoni. And then, take Busway Koridor I (Blok M-Kota) until your final destination at Halte GBK! I think this way is too complicated.
UI is your campus?! Bus TransJakarta buat Jkt makin parah macetnya, ya...gitu deh!

Thx for the info CLELY... I guess taking busway is not really a good idea, right? I seldom see bus TransJakarta in front of my campus (Yep i study in UI). My friend told me that the buses are available like every one or two hours... *Uda bkin tambah macet, busnya juga jarang ada, ada copetnya juga lagi, hehehe, parah...*

Anyway, the best of the China team will participate? That is a really great news... I suppose Malaysia will send their best too, they always do that every year... I'll just wait the news from Korea and Denmark team...

Yan, if Mei Ying is from Malaysia, I am sure that she will understand the language. I have Malaysian friends in my campus, they understand our language perfectly if we speak clearly, but sometimes they got confused if we speak so fast in our slang... I think u should go to Indo Open, lol... Indonesia is only like 2 hours from Singapore...

Hi guys, i found this article in bolanews.com to support Krisna's post...

Menjelang Indonesia Super Series
Pasukan Maut Cina

Cina unjuk kekuatan.

(bhw)

Pemain yang Dikirim
Tunggal Putra: Lin Dan, Bao Chunlai, Chen Jin, Chen Yu, Chen Hong Tunggal Putri: Xie Xingfang, Zhang Ning, Zhu Lin, Lu Lan, Jiang Yanjiao, Wang Lin Ganda Putra: Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng, Xie Zhongbo/Guo Zhendong, Zhang Jun/Zheng Bo, Shen Ye/He Hanbin Ganda Putri: Gao Ling/Zhang Jiewen, Yang Wei/Zhao Tingting, Zhang Yawen/Wei Yili, Yu Yang/Du Jing Ganda Campuran: Zheng Bo/Gao Ling, Xie Zhongbo/Zhang Yawen, He Hanbin/Yu Yang, Zhang Jun/Zhao Tingting

Someone translate this article please... I'm not a good translator:crying: ...

So Gao Ling is partnering Zhang Jiewen now? I hope this is just temporary cos I'm going to miss Gao/Huang very much!

I wonder why they are switching partners now. Gao/Huang and Yang/Zhang can easily grab the OG gold and silver.

I would like to try my hands on some translation. This is only my first time, so please correct me if there is any mistakes.

THE DEADLY CHINESE TEAM (literally :D )

China is sending its best players to compete in the Djarum Indonesia Super Series in Jakarta, 7-13 Mei.

"China is coming in full force. All of its top players are coming to Jakarta," said the PB PBSI tournament director, Mimi Irmawan.

China is sending world's top players such as Lin Dan (men singles), Xie Xingfang (women singles), Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng (men doubles), Gao Ling/Zhang Jiewen (women doubles), and Gao Ling/Zheng Bo (mixed doubles) to join the USD 250,000 tournament.

The only changes in the list of players are the women doubles. Gao Ling, which normally partners Huang Sui, is now teaming up with Zhang Jiewen, whose usual partner is Yang Wei. There are no words yet on Huang Sui's absence.

Despite that, China is still the heavy favourites. It will be difficult for other countries to break the Chinese domination, considering the fact that China has been dominating the women doubles for the past decade.

"This is what differentiates 'open tournaments' with Super Series. Every Super Series tournament will be flooded by world's best players. In addition, there are also huge prize money," added Mimi at the PB PBSI Secretariat
kantor(?), Wisma Karsa, Senayan, Wednesday(28/3) morning.

It is possible that China will sweep all 5 titles. If Indonesia players are not careful, they will again return empty-handed, just like the previous 4 Super Series tournament.

Will these 27 players pose a threat or otherwise? Let us watch it together at Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, Jakarta.

The list of players:
Men singles: Lin Dan, Bao Chunlai, Chen Jin, Chen Yu, Chen Hong Women singles: Xie Xingfang, Zhang Ning, Zhu Lin, Lu Lan, Jiang Yanjiao, Wang Lin Men doubles: Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng, Xie Zhongbo/Guo Zhendong, Zhang Jun/Zheng Bo, Shen Ye/He Hanbin Women doubles: Gao Ling/Zhang Jiewen, Yang Wei/Zhao Tingting, Zhang Yawen/Wei Yili, Yu Yang/Du Jing Mixed doubles: Zheng Bo/Gao Ling, Xie Zhongbo/Zhang Yawen, He Hanbin/Yu Yang, Zhang Jun/Zhao Tingting

I'm surprised to see Chen Hong's name there. I thought he had retired from international competitions?
