Is it okay for a player to remove his shirt as a celebration after the umpire calls "Game" ?
Note : I have a video regarding this, but I don't know how I can upload it here!
Good contributionIn those days they had dual layer shirts which took ages to get back on again, especially when soaked with sweat. The rule was to prevent delays of the game![]()
The intention of the law is to avoid players intimidating their opponent. That's kinda moot after the end of the match.
So assuming this is the last game and there is no challenge, after the umpire calls Game, players are free to celebrate by screaming or removing their shirt.
Emotional display after a match is great for the sport and has no bearing on the result of the game, so it does not need to be regulated except that we don't want our players to be bad role models, e.g. destroying rackets or other equipment, disdaining opponents or so.
