He's the 2nd best MS for MY atm. Just need more experience in international arena and composure to control the game tempo. Hopefully he can learn a lot with LCW to improved his game. After several years, at least we can see some hope in MS department in MY after LCW.
i think he has the skills to make it. Biggest hindrance is his stamina to play top 10 level badminton kind of intensity. Evident during the malaysian gpg finals. When LCW upped the intensity in the second game to near his class.... IZ can be seen gasping for every point.
I hope LCW will not harbor such a thought. He may be suspended again for match-fixing and his career will be doomed!
Pictures of young Iskandar in Singapore I'm really happy to see Iskandar making a breakthrough finally. Maybe Morten Frost sees a talent in him just as he saw it in LCW many years ago. But Iskandar is not new to me as he was among some of Malaysia's talented youngsters to have participated in Singapore's youth tournaments during his time, among whom was the more popular Tan Chun Seang, nicknamed "The Monkey". I think Iskandar has the stamina to go on improving and I hope to see him in the top 20 soon Below are rare pictures of Iskandar and TCS during our youth tournaments in 2007:
What was his style before like? Not like the current "all out, never say die" on display at the recent malay gp?.....curious to know. Thanks
since Lee Chong Wei decided to be absent in Swiss Open this week, it is time for his junior Iskandar to do his own job and need to try his best to reach at least quarterfinals in the tournament...
in general .. before this: more defensive.. no killer instinct, does not take chances and playing safe shots rather than being creative. these days.. the biggest change i see is .. he has more desire to attack after defending...not afraid to use more creative shots... these days he is more accurate.. his stamina seems to have improved.. so do his confidence...and his never say die attitude is still there...
what a tragic for Iskandar as he got himself injured during R32 of Swiss Open, end up decided to retire from the match... and then there will be no concerning whether Iskankar still have fit to play upcoming tournament such as India SS and Malaysia SSP...
in an interview yesterday (nadi arena, astro channel 801) ... he said his chances to go to rio is all but gone...true?
It's JOJ now, and he has lost 2 consecutive matches now, as I remembered. Hopefully Iskandar can win tomorrow.
