    Chong Wei to skip China Masters KUALA LUMPUR: National coach Misbun Sidek has given shuttler Lee Chong Wei the green light to skip next week’s China Masters in Guangzhou. World No. 1 Chong Wei confirmed this after reaching the final of the Japan Open in Tokyo yesterday following a 21-6, 21-4 demolition of Dane Joachim Persson in the semi-final. Chong Wei said he was skipping the eighth-leg of the Super Series in China because of a slight pain on his right hand. The Malaysian had been seeded top ahead of Lin Dan of China for the tournament. “It is nothing serious. It is probably due to heavy smashing. I need a rest. The coach also does not want me to aggravate any injuries,” said Chong Wei in a telephone interview yesterday. “I will return home after the Japan Open. I have also been entered for the Macau Open (after the China Masters) but I am not sure if I will play. I will let my coach decide.”
