Lakshya sen

Since there’s no thread on the Hylo Open in Saarbrucken (Germany),
I’ve just watched Christo Popov trounced his compatriot Arnaud Merkle 21-12, 21-14,
that makes Lakshya’s defeat to Merkle last week in French Open more shocking,
there must have been something far off for Lakshya’s under par performance that day.

He was totally off on that day. He must be going through something. After losing at french open, he was seen coaching his elder brother in an international challenge in india in the same week. Such a talent , no idea why he is not with renowned coaches for long long time . Thus is unacceptable , considering Olympics is nearing .

Thanks for the info, as I said I like this new wave of Indian players,
especially Lakshya, let’s hope he can get his act together and go far in Paris 2024.

I always wanted to ask a question to you. Are you from Indonesia or China?. Always watch you in chinese forums. Just asking
I was born in Hong Kong in the New Territories emigrated to U.K. as a 10yr old,
I stumbled upon this forum when I returned to playing badminton again after more than 20yrs break,
but it was a tragic return, I ruptured my Achilles Tendon on my left leg on my 2nd session,
stopped playing then returned again 5yrs later, played for 6months then ruptured my right leg Achilles Tendon, :(
I still love Badminton and visit here intermittently.

I must add though i am Chinese, due to my poor background I only had 1 years education before I left for U.K.
I speak Hakka and Cantonese (badly) but can’t read or write Chinese text at all so English is my first language,
I do appreciate other posters from other continents giving inside stories on their players,
though I favour HK players to do well, I am not fanatically patriotic on Chinese players,
I just want to see great Badminton played whatever the country they’re from,
it was the rise of Srikanth Kidambi that peaked my interest in Indian Badminton,
hence I started looking into the Indian Pro player thread. :)

It's always nice to know more about other forum members, but one question is being left unanswered: what did Frank make you do?:)

I heard this before. A tragic and career ending case.
Any chance of a 4th comeback? Maybe playing leisurely.

Thanks!.

Just incase you think my Avatar pic is me, it’s Jake Gyllenhaal from the film Donnie Darko,
a character who has psychological problems, sleepwalks and hears voices,
Frank is a vision in a rabbit suit that comes to him and tells him the world will end in 28 days and so hours etc..
his influence on Donnie becomes stronger and he starts to do bad things,
his condition was made worse by reading a book given to him “the philosophy of time travel”,
written by a strange old woman Roberta Sparrow who used to teach at his high school,
she lives in the edge of town and local kids call “grandma death”.

It’s a complex film that requires repeat viewing, even then it’s a love/hate kinda film.

Yes, I posted at the time when I snapped my 2nd Achilles and a couple of members sent commiserations. :(

I am afraid no more comebacks, I am in my 60th year now.

Thanks!.

Thank you for clarifying what I was wondering for a long time

Arnaud lost rather easily to one of lesser known Lakshya’s academy mates- Raghu Mariswamy, a week before FO

Now LS faces Naraoka & SYQ in the r1 of the next two tournaments

No cake walk for his future outing, hope he rises to the occasion,
any updates on his poor showing in the French Open?.

Ah well, suppose he’s a allowed a blip like everyone else,
the only way is up now, hope he acquits himself well in Paris 2024.

“It was three weeks ago that Lakshya and Anup had discussions after the season ended and decided to part ways after not being able to achieve the targets they had set together.”

I’m sure Baddyforall would appreciate this decision.

Lakshya is in deep waters right now.
But the good thing to know is at this young age, he takes responsibility for his results and decisions.
