Lee Chong Wei ( 李宗伟 )

LCW thinks LD might be peaking too early. Losing in the first round is a sensible decision on LCWs part attempting to peak at the right time.
LCWs goal is the olympics and not these lousy super series.
LCW got fever a week before All England. LD didnt. That means LD could get fever before Olympics while LCW will stay fever free and win gold.
that sounds a bit like magical thinking!

Ouch!!! LCW lost in the 2nd round again. He had flu a week ago. And is waiting for the right time to peak as Olympics is his goal.
His match was again 2nd last. That could ve been the reason. :)

What ever it is, I am always amazed by the number of different excuses LCW has for his every lost, from not feeling well, always played in the last game of the day, weather too cold to LCW not wanting to peak so soon before the Olympic, etc, but none of them is being outplayed by a better player on the day. BTW, Rio Olympic is only about 4 months away, any player who wants to have a crack at the gold medal better start picking up form and result real soon.

It's the same when Lin Dan loses. Fans will be fans.

To be fair, whenever LD lost, I don't see so many excuses like not feeling well, sickness, needing to play in the last part of the day, weather too cold / weather too hot. Mostly LD will commence his opponents who beat him having a very good game.

Hmmm, I had the most memorable experience first hand of his excuse/ reason in the Singapore Open Finals back in 2011. Everyone was waiting excitedly for his match.

He came out and cedes walkover to his compatriot. He said he has stomach flu from drinking too much cold water.

And I think that's enough.

To it be LCW or LD or other players, they will still gave excuses or reasons (depends on how each individual fan wants to take it.)

A loss is a loss despite the reasons. It's not going to change the fact that they have lost.

So, onto the next one.

`A loss is a loss`. Its easier said than done. Its not just a loss if the player is paying only at half his strength. Noone, and, I repeat noone can beat LCW on days when he had had not had a fever a week before and when he had not had to play last match of the day.
In fact noone can possibly beat LCW in Olympics this year unless he drinks too much cold water, because that is real his target. Its also a galactic conspiracy to get him to play last every tournament. Hopefuly he will get to play his matches at 4 am in Malaysia SS. Amen.

I meant it as a pov from fans (our view). Not in their shoes.

I was talking about fans giving excuses when their idol lost - not the player himself.

Did LCW give any excuses for losing at the India Open?

That SO case is not an excuse for loss, it was an excuse needed for retirement / walkover.

Compared with numerous variety in LCW's (or just his fans') losses, normally LD's fans would just get one, LD was not interested in winning that game, although not as frequent as LCW's.

Which is currently being used by LCW? He was earlier using Duora 10 and looks like he has switched back to his earlier Z force II racket.
