Lee Chong Wei ( 李宗伟 )

whats that HAHAHA
Protected ranking allows LCW to play at higher tournament. His last tournament is Indonesia Open 2018. After that, he is ranked 2. When he is back to competition, his rank will be dropped to the point that he can't compete at WT750+ tournaments. That's when protected ranking comes to play. As a result, he will participate at higher tournament as a rank 2 player instead of lower rank player. However, he can't become a seeded player if his rank is protected.

which is also why i dont like the WT format

i mean, lets say ur indonesian player n its indonesia open WTS1000 and u want to play in ir home tournament.

But ur ranking is like 180, thn cannot play.

How?
I think that it is okay. It is definitely doesn't make sense for an Indonesian player ranked 180 to play at WT1000. You just don't pit a low rank player with a high rank player. It is unfair. Also, there are also Indonesia Masters, one is WT500 and the other is WT100. Both of these tournaments have qualification format.

The films ok, but I think they should have done it a bit later in his career given he has yet to retire and there's a lot of his intriguing story that hasn't been told.

Since LCW has more or less made up his mind to return to competition, I actually can't wait for his comeback. Hope to see him make an appearance at the home-based MAS Masters in January though I already said it's highly unlikely.

It would take about six months to be on form..I predict that he will definitely compete in the Malaysian Masters to support the home tournament and judge interim progress.

Last year he promised he would be back at the HK Open. Maybe he will, but perhaps not playing.
