That's a very fishy Li Ning stall. I don't think the objective is to sell anything. It's just a roadshow vehicle for Team CHN. It's great if you're a CHN fan but weird if you're not. If Spore team wears different brands, it probably means they 're not sponsored.
Well, I assume most of the booth setup in a big event is more for "intro" and "promote" purpose, rather than really depend on the daily sales cash for a week.
I want to share with all Singapore badminton fans here, Li ning 's equipment is now selling at World of sports Wisma, only medium range badminton rackets is available . cost around 120- 259, top range of 400-489 ranges not arrive yet. And they are selling shuttles for practise and rubber grips now at reasonable price. shuttles at 29 dollars , grips cost from 4 dollars to 5 dollars!
That N90 looks nothing like what Lin Dan or anyone else was using in the Surdirman Cup. It was metallic crimson, that's just plain old gloss red. I reckon they look like **** imho. Maybe even worse than SOTX, but at least SOTX is so cheezy and 'Chinese' looking that it makes them kinda funky.
Last night, I had a go with the Li Ning Woods N90 when playing with a few Singapore national trainees. In its feel and response, it's almost identical to the (later version) Yonex Armortec 700. However, it's noticeably stiffer than the 700. I really can't figure out why Li Ning had to price the N90 higher than, say, the AT700
The price for armotec 700 is around sing 240, and N90 racket is almost double the price. Why double price is because is made in china and used by Lin dan !
For some people, having the most expensive rackets ever and especially one purportedly used by Lin Dan is enough for them to pony up the cash. People are puppets. I think the thing is with China is that the market is so huge, if you go big straight off like Li-Ning has done, it's gunna be pretty hard to mess it up. They've gone in boots and all in the biggest market in the biggest region, so they clearly know what they're doing. Still, I think their rackets look really low rent and unsophisticated for the sort of dollars they're asking for them. Not sure if they'll do well anywhere but SE Asia, but then again, they probably don't care.
Most of us can easily think of a bunch of people who probably lack badminton skill, yet have numerous of the latest Yonex or whatever expensive top end racketS you can find in the market.
Yesterday afternoon taking a break from wook , i went over to 10 & 10 to look and chat with the aunty. I am surprised to see she brought in Li ning , as most people here know its expensive. According to her, her Li ning's ladies shoes is selling like hotcakes. Her customers mostly ladies buying Li ning shoes are selling very well. As for men ,The lowest price for Li ning is $99.90, size UK 6-8, all sold out. I order from aunty size 8 , mostly will come next 2 weeks . Then she told me , Li ning clothing and rackets will be coming soon too. Great news.
That is good news for the economy...just wonder if NS9000, AT700, is good enough, would any Lining top end, low end, mid end, back end or any end rackets make significant improvement to warrant trading up? I will stay with my 2 Cab 20 and 1 Cab 21, till I retire playing no more.
so people just wanna show off....so what if you have the fancies rackets , if your skills is suck still ya' suck...
Oldhand.. To me it is kind of a contradiction in your statement.. If you say it feels like an A700.. but stiffer.. then it rally doesnt feel like an AT700. (as it feels stifffer ?!?!) does it? Would love to try some LNs, will probably order some once they get more widely avaiable on the net cheers, TB
I should blame my poor selection of words To explain: When you pick up and swing the Li Ning Woods N90, it feels as if you are wielding the AT 700. It's only when you hammer down a smash that you realise that it's a stiffer design.
I see, so they figured Lin Dan would like it if they kept the swing weight and balance similar to the AT so he didn't need to adjust his timing :-D /TB
