The 2 Chinese MS players DPY (S1)and WZM (S8) were unexpectedly upset by Marc Zwiebler and Tommy Sugiarto. MZ continues his fine form from the Indonesian Open whereas Juliane Schenk, a fellow German, was upset by a Chinese qualifier. Obviously her 3-game match against LXR in last week’s DIBO had taken its toll. Kenichi Tago’s defeat at the hands of Rajiv Ouseph was also unexpected and RO’s match against TS should see the latter prevail and perhaps see the repeat of last week’s semi-final match between him and MZ. Gu Juan was just unfortunate to be drawn against Saina Nehwal in the first round of the main draw where she put up a credible display before losing 14-21, 21-23; if GJ had won the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] game she could have well repeated her win over Saina two weeks ago at the SCG Thailand.

TTY just simply outclassed MM with brilliant placement and out of syllabus return.
MM basically get frustrated after being running all over the court yet unable to win a point.
TTY did quite a lot of mistake in this match which she cant afford on the next match against sun yu.

Doesn't bode well for the WC quest of WZM and DuPY. But better for them to suffer setbacks here than get rude shocks at the WC. Anyway, Marc has always been such a fighter with a never-say-die attitude, hope to see him in the final here.

Agree and we will see their true faces in the world cup and after the Chinese national game in September.
