If LCW or CL wins it still does not change the fact that LD is the best of his era. Both CL and LCW combined still has to chase a total of 2 Olympics golds and 5 WC and 6 AE titles,
By being the best of his era he has established himself as the GOAT, that is until a new GOAT emerges, a player who is a Yang Yang, a Zhao Jianhua and a LD rolled into one. Can God be that kind to one person?

For me if LCW or CL wins, I will just lose a few hundred bucks:D, Rio's certainly no fun without placing some bet on LD.

My guess is LCW will play LD in the final. This match will be much more exciting than the last Olympic match. LD will prevail.

You seemed to be very sure in your prediction! If so maybe badlove WILL win thousands of dollars?

Thank goodness he is not a professional badminton player...or else...:p

I wonder why people get so angry when there is a critic of LD. Fan and fanatic should be two different things. Same with the strong desire to see LD reckoned as GOAT. What does it change if he is nor not? What is important about that?

A journalist from CCTV was there and reported LD and JXP shouting at each other. At least this could be regarded as the truth. And no journalist reported a fight before the rumor came out which is another truth. The rest of my reply is just my inference. Not hearsay at all.
I don't want to defend LD that he made no mistake, he admitted later that he didn't behave himself in front of his senior. I just don't like people judging others by rumors, or taking rumors as truth.

It shows their support as his loyal fans. They're defending his honor and title for him as GOAT. This is sports and of course there will be debate of who's the greatest. Whether it's Federer or Djokovic, Pele or Messi, Jordan or LeBron, Ali or Mayweather, etc. It's the thing that spice up sports and I think it's necessary because it kind of add the fun to it. :D

In my opinion, LD though he doesn't really have a close contender to be worth comparing or mentioning as the greatest. His achievement very much tells it.

I agree with you, and moreover I myself believe he is the best of all time (past), but no need to depreciate other opinions!

Here's a recent picture of some of my club members with two of the greats that you mentioned. They participated in a Masters tournament in China last year. I think you can identify them.

And China's top WS and WD players of old who made their appearance in a Masters event in Singapore in 2015. Do you know who they are?

Respect for the older generations is a must-have value, even in sport where youth count for so much

Thanks uncle Loh for the photos. I have seen enough videos on YouTube to be able to recognize Yang2 and Zhao Jianhua but I can't recognize the rest. Can you kindly identify the rest especially the tall and beautiful lady in white.

The first lady in WD, Yao Fen, has been resident and coaching in Singapore for a long time.
    Her CV is here:

That pretty lady in WS who appears in the 3rd and last picture is Huang Hua, now married and resident in Indonesia. Here's her CV:
