Actually having said that, Taufik's group is not easy either. His can be considered the group of death along with Tien Minh's group. Taufik has to face Abian and then the cancer survivor Koukal. I am sure both are going to push Taufik's fitness to the very limit. Abian has the potential to pull off a Kevin Cordon stunner.
Don t worry, Taufik has won all that matters, including Asian Games champion twice which no one can match. Taufik is just gonna enjoy the Olympics. Will be a stroll for LD. Not sure about CL. In Round 1, fitter and faster do not matter. It s the battle of veteran vs debutant.
Lin Dan can start to worry about the gold medal match after beating Taufik. For now, just discuss with Chen Jin how to come into good terms LOL!

Still that draw is actually not easy. Taufik still goes through but he will pushed to the distance by both players he never met before.
Unless he is pretending all this while that he is crap; both in Thomas Cup and Indonesia Open. That will be the biggest deception in badminton history.
Didn't expect BWF will go on twitter (I've no account), thanks guys for the feedback and posts. Woohoo, the MS and WS draws are what I wished for. WYH can hold her own in her half; LXR and WX to complement each other in the other, wonderful. LD and CJ in the same half, excellent; LCW and CL in the other, very good draw. Along the way,in terms of quadrants, for WS: QF1 = WYH should prevail over Bae YJ then meet Cheng SC who should overcome Gu Juan; QF2 = Saina should beat Yao Jie before meeting Tine who should knock out Syayka Sato; QF3 = LXR and Sung JH are expected to square off; QF4 = Toughest quadrant with WX,IR and JS, even Petya and Firdasari aren't weak. Hardest to predict though I'd pick WX to face off JS/IR (another difficult choice). For MS, Chen Long has the toughest/trickiest 1st round opponent in Boonsak, after which he should encounter Shon over Peter. Clearly,Lin Dan's first hurdle is Taufik who cannot be taken lightly before sailing to the final. Taufik is a dangerous dark horse with nothing to lose and for his swansong appearance will throw everything at Lin Dan,playing freely and with wild abandon, an exciting match. After this, awaitig LD is probably another equally dangerous dark horse, Sho Sasaki. And then, should Chen Jin fails to dispose of the other dangerous dark horse,Lee Hyun Il,not that unlikely, then LD will again have to be at his best. Who says LD has a relatively easy path to the final? As for Lee CW,he has his work cut out for him, mainly in the name of Chen Long. But before that, due to his recent recovery from injury,he has to manoeuvre past a few challenging prospects. First off,Ville Lang should pose no problem, not able to stretch him much. Next,Simon Santoso is a hurdle who can really push him to the limit. Assuming LCW crosses it,then either K Tago or Nguyen TM (Kashyap has an outside chance) awaits him and they aren't exactly easier meat than Simon. The biggest obstacle is of course Chen Long who I believe can stop LCW's OG quest here. That's my take for MS and WS. The gold medallists? I will speculate later.
Nehwal has the easiest draw among the four seeds. But this time, she will not have the crowd behind her back. Against Baun, she will face the Mexican wave from the Danish rows.
Four years ago in Beijing Chen Jin let Lin dance win in the semi...If they meet again this time in the semi, will Chen Jin do the same?
That kind of problem of losing to players not on video mainly applies to players who win by rote training. I believe Taufik s the opposite. He just turns up and play, that s why it s amazing he can win titles that count. You know the type, don t study, still ace! One in a thousand.
What the ...... The 2 INA MS has to deal with the 2 Top Seeded --if they pass the group stage-- in the early round A very bad draw for INA MS :crying:
Then he wont be the greatest badminton player of all time but the greatest liar and the most dishonest player of all time. because a player who doesn't care or not play seriously in most tournaments while others worked tirelessly hard of it is clearly taking a piss. That is not an attribute of a champion.
