food for thoughts for this Christmas season. http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/12/20/roland.martin/index.html
:O I was looking at that link you posted (kwun) It is absoloutely RIDICULOUS ! I am a catholic and I do respect other faiths but I think people are just going over the top by taking anything to do with christ away from CHRISTMAS which I will NOT stop saying. If christ hadn't been born , there would be no christmas anyway ! So many people are trying to be politically 'correct' nowadays and we have to watch what we say. There was a restuarant called ' Fatty Arbuckles ' and it was changed to Arbuckles because people complained. Now over here , We are not allowed to say blackboard or sing the childrens rhyme , ' bah bah black sheep ' because we are automatically accused of being racist ! I know I've went a little off topic but please don't delete this post because I think it is important and I want to share my thoughts. Thanks Liam
i'm glad u posted this because i had refrain from bringing this up for fear post deletion or me being labelled as a politically insensitive. Christmas is christmas damn it. Happy holiday and season greetings are just some watered down salutation, like what are those?
i thought the latter half of the article is more important. the part about americans being too consumerist and materialistic and we should give more thoughts about giving to those in need instead of trying to satisfy the need to buy things because we are told to.
I completely agree with you. Don't be scared to say what you think about it , you should have posted it. It really got me angry
I would say that the first part of the article is utter rubbish. It's Christmas and theres no way of changing that ! I agree with the helping of others but I can't say I complain when I see the presents
I think those generic statements (seasons greeting, happy holidays) were invented by businesses so to promote consumerism. This way, they would sell more christmas cards and draw in non-christian shoppers to shop for christmas.
Yeah. I know some Muslims that celebrate christmas. Well they don't really celebrate it , but they get presents I know I sounded quite nasty in my earlier comments but it's getting really terrible.
never thought of it that way. but that can be the case i guess. whatever it is, i personally don't care too much about how it is called.
