Okuhara sporting the her Mizuno Caliber REG signature edition. Looks good i say, both the owner and the equipment.
For the Olympic/national campaign, they have different attire sponsors. http://www.yonex.com/company/news/g...-of-the-singapore-and-malaysia-national-team/ Like how Yonex is supplying the Singapore and Taiwan team (their tug of war team too); too much fine details to go into, and if I remember correctly, The North Face or FILA for Korean team. Different arrangements, but only limited to team wear. Equipment and individual appearances (outside of entire contingent) still stays status quo.
Hi Stas, Caliber VS Tour - balanced between power and control 56 sq inch frame (standard) Max tension 23-27 lbs Length 675mm Weight 4UG5 Medium - stiff flex BP 296mm +- balanced VA Tour - generating power smashes without sacrificing control 53 sq inch frame Max tension 23-27 lbs Length 675mm Weight 4UG5 Medium - stiff flex BP 296mm +- balanced VF Tour - killing machine. 53 sq inch frame Max tension 24-30 lbs Length 675mm Weight 3UG5 Medium - stiff flex BP 302mm +- H.Heavy I included the VF Tour for the benefit for those asking
pizzaboi Many thanks for the clarification. If I correct understand main differenceation between VA and VS is frame size. VA Tour have less size frame, how it affect on playing? Please advise.
A smaller frame will have a smaller sweet spot, hence it requires the user to have the consistency to hit the sweet spot for powerful shots. A player with better technique will be able to hit the shuttle harder with high tensions on their small frame rackets, plus to have the control of the shuttle during net exchanges. lower tension generate power ( trampoline effect ), but lose control. higher tension more control, need to be strong for smashes
hi @Accordaz , head size is standard at 56 sq in. Max tension at 23-27 lbs. I''m not too sure about orders for Europe, send me a pm on what you need and i see what i can do for you. Regards
Just got the jpx 8 and strung with bg66 ultimax at 25/26 lbs. will only be having a game tomorrow. but initial testing at home (same with what i do with all my new rackets) was surprising. the racket is fast due to the hexagram frame which is similar to victor bs12 and gosen customedge type v version 2. the surprising part is the racket feels really solid on impact with the shuttle. the sweet spot is quite big compared to caliber s tour and off center shots doesn't give you the vibrations like in the caliber s tour. spec say weight of 83g but mine weighed 85g and the bp was close to 290mm as in the spec. previously i bought the s tour cos i didnt believe what 2 shop owners told me when i asked them which racket has a more solid feel between the s tour and jpx 8. both said jpx 8. i went ahead and bought the s tour which i sold after one game. also sold off the gosen customedge cos it lack power in addition to the less solid feel. went with jpx 8 cos i felt the anti twist t joint was important in providing the stability which isnt in the 8.1 and 8.3. (similar with the t joint of li ning n80 II although the n80II is slightly more refined) while the weight and bp i could tinker with some tape on the head. also prefer the color scheme of the 8. lol will update how it plays tomorrow.
All the best to Nozomi Okuhara and Kenichi Hayakawa at the RIO games. Pictures credit to BWF Facebook page.
Hi guys, Some time ago I had a choose to order Caliber VA Tour (Medium - stiff flex BP 296mm +- balanced), But 2 weeks ago I received my Lining N99 and Gosen Gungnir Alpha (Currently I have lining N90III – very powerful and “userfriendly”, 300-304mm (Head Heavy), Medium Stiff, 85-89g) But first impressions from Lining N99 (BP 293-300mm, 85-89g, Medium Stiff ) is no clear, I can’t feel this racket, it is like, I do not know- middle in each motion: defense, power, etc. First impressions for Gungnir ALPHA Is very cool (I fill it on 100%) But now a have a dilemma: which of Mizuno racket I should to order (VF Tour????) unfortunately I can’t ability to trail.
