Hey guys, I'm looking for new insoles that have good and durable cushioning at the forefoot especially under the big toe. I use Asics shoes that have a relatively thick insole but they are now deformed underneath my big toes and making them hurt. It seems that I pressure my big toes a lot while moving around the court. Most insoles I saw are rather flat at the forefoot. I'm glad for any recommendation.
Spenco Polysorb Crosstrainers. Superb cushioning but still not too thick, good grip and durability and a fair price.
Yes I saw your post about them in another thread and will try them for sure. I would actually like them to be a little thicker like the original ones but if the cushion is really that good it should be alright.
They are thicker than the original ones, don't get me wrong. But still not as thick as many other replacement insoles around. Also, their arch support is only slight to medium instead of those rigid plastic bits you see in a lot of other insoles. Makes them very comfy if you don't really need that much arch support. IMO, you can hardly go wrong for that price.
Completely agree, Spenco Polysorb Crosstrainers are amazing. Perfect protection for the knees, incredible cushioning and nice price. A little bit different question: There is also Spenco® PolySorb® Heavy Duty insoles for everyday wearing. https://spenco.implus.com/products/all-products/spenco-polysorb-heavy-duty-shock-absorbing-insoles I checked specs - they look exactly the same as Crosstrainers. Did someone use them? What is the difference?
Nope, haven't tried these yet. I have tried the "Rx Comfort Thin" ones (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000S6GBI6/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which I find very nice for daily use in all sorts of normal shoes. They are basically just one layer of the Polysorb material without any extra support or stuff like that and hence thin as a standard stock insole. Way more sturdy and comfy though. And the price is a steal tbh. They are missing that extra cushioning and structure (heel cup etc.) of the Crosstrainers though when it comes to badminton for me.
More rigid support structures (arch and heel cup) and are a tad thicker overall. Overall too much support for my normal feet.
Yes! Finally I managed to get this much recommended insoles.. First impression as i put my feet on it (in the shoes) "Oh **** I made a terrible mistake buying this". The heel felt very elevated to the point that I feel awkward with my footwork. Turns out that (maybe) the insoles werent slid in properly (maybe), after several minutes "breaking them in", the elevated feel was gone and I can feel only the good things - very stable, very cushy on landing, yet it doesnt feel like walking on pillow (i.e. i can still feel in touch with the ground). SPC just converts another follower
I just realized... how did you pressure underneath your big toes a lot? landing on toes? I do that too a lot.. I wonder when we all can do this:
I'm not landing on my toes for lunges. That would obviously be a bad thing to do. But I seem to pressure them a lot for chasses and jumps. (Not sure if that is perfect either) BTW hope my insoles will arrive tomorrow.
Just got an answer from the company. They are indeed the same, exactly same model. They renamed them for marketing purposes.
I bought the spenco insoles and tried them yesterday. At first it was a weird feeling but after the first match I didn't noticed them anymore. The cushioning is definitely there and I had so much less trouble with my toes. Compared to other insoles the spencos are a little more expensive but so far totally worth it for me. Hopefully they will stand the test of time.
