Maybe I should say as soft as white mk2 zm62, which I read described as hard! Dare I say softer than 660ti? That's just from stringing, yet to play with it. I think 62f has to replace the zm62 in my revelation. I love soft string so I'm happy.
^ This new BETA polymer may not feel stiff to string, but on hitting, it feels much harder... comparing 62F vs 62 and 66F vs 65. Almost edging into BG80 and VS850 territory.
69f definitely didn't feel hard to me when I had the orange samples, but I strung it at my normal tension for a .66 These stringbeds are all pinging 1-2lb lower than expected, However I do find that I can play ultimax 100hz above what I enjoy for vs850. I'm glad I went with white, so far orange feels smoother and stiffer. Just had a prod at the 62f@24 stringbed and its not budging, so I think I'll find I agree with you visor.
I have strung both control and power in my rackets as I was part of the testing team for this product. Both of the strings are soft to string with, and the 66 gauge can be a little troublesome when trying to get the string into a joint hole. There's isn't the BG80 striek with this string, which is a considerably harder string. However, I really enjoy stringing and playing with Zymax Fire. I haven't tested 62 gauge yet but I now have a few sets and will be testing soon. The string is lasting so well I don't want to cut it out yet! Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
66C went in easy as pie - don't know why Duck was trolling me. Might be because my Thrusters have been strung a dozen times, and their grommets may as well be manholes. 1369 Hz out of the machine; let's see how it decays.
Glad to help, enjoy! I had a quick hit with orange 62@24 and there was a lot of repulsion there. Bodes well. I think I'll be using it for another match this week. And I'd rather set expectations too negative, then surpass them
I'm still using 66 in my BS9N at the moment and it plays so well, with very little loss of tension. I've also strung several rackets for players using 69 gauge and have received excellent feedback. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
Does the 66 white drink stencil ink as well as the 69 orange? I cut the orange out and the stencil kept most of the string bed together.
I've been playing with the 60 for the past 3 months and it's so good that I still don't want to cut it off...
The fun part of trying out new strings is that we all have our usual go-to strings to compare to, so we're not so easily affected by expectations... Having said that, these new strings will surpass most expectations and comparisons for feel, repulsion, tension retention and durability. When was the last time ever that a whole series of strings in various gauges were released together from Yonex or Victor that are this good?
Ohh..my. Really frustrated I still haven't got my hand on the new ashaway string. I like to try the thinnest ashaway string, where do I get it?
In Canada, supposed to hit the warehouses around Jan 20. Then maybe 2 wks to retailers. Goode Sport UK should have it up for sale quite soon now. Not sure if they post internationally. Stringer's World UK does post internationally, but not sure when they'll get them as they're not the official Ashaway distributor.
