if you're recording video you are holding your camera up the whole time so you're easy to spot. in the many tournaments i've run some people will have a small tripod and try to shield it between their legs, ha ha.

players are allowed to video matches. they have to inform the host ahead of time and their equipment is tagged so the staff knows not to bother them.

A monopod might be easier to conceal

Hoo... thanks for the insight. Didn't know players are allowed with discretion. I was mostly only taking photographs as that's my main thing. I only recorded some short videos for personal keeping, and those are rough shaky overexposed videos anyway ;D

Hard to slip past the security though

Side note: I'm sorry some of the discussions here is OOT :s

Sadly Okuhara lost her opening round in HK Open to Putri Kusuma Wardani, with 1st game only managed single digit score. Is it the end for both her and Momota?

What happened to her? I just checked she gave a walkover to her compatriot yesterday.

Nozumi continues her rehabilitation with winning the championship at Odisha Masters 100.

However, the score line in the final was 20-22 in her favour against a 20 year old HK player. A little too close for comfort.

What are the chances of Nozomi qualifying to the olympics? She has to compete with Aya Ohori which is pretty tough especially since Aya is quite in shape right now and she just won the Thailand masters (beating Nozomi herself in the quarter finals). I suppose Nozomi still has a chance if she performs well for the rest of the tournaments and Aya lose out in the early rounds?

personally, I hope Aya makes it to the Olympics. Nozomi had her shot, twice, and based on her inconsistent form, should just give way to someone else to experience the Olympics.
