    Oh yeah... finally....

This means stringing time in the afternoon and then on court tomorrow in the evening. So excited!

And thanks to Mark for choosing that fast shipment!

    Update:
Swoosh sound of that beast is like two octaves lower than the JS10. Sounds like it has an built in subwoofer. Well... I bet you can squeeze a 12" woofer inside that massive shaft...

    Update 2:
    Titan reporting ready for duty...

Now strung with LN1 at my usual 27.5/27.5 lbs., added one RKEP G10 overgrip. Some specs:

    Dry:
    84.2 g
    291 mm BP

    Wet (plus string and overgrip):
    94.5 g
    288 mm BP
    40.5 g head weight

The frame has a certain old-school look and feel to it. It's just... so massive.
But then it's surprisingly light and swings pretty fast. Let's see how this combination will feel in battle. I'm expecting to meet something special.

Here's my mini review after the first 2 hours of club night with it yesterday. And it is really, really difficult to write down something entertaining about that Titan - sounds horrible, but in fact is everything else than that. I will try to explain.

We started with doing some clear/drop/follow-up drills which had my brain pretty much occupied without leaving too much thinking power left for the racket. Result: I felt comfortable from the beginning until the end. There was not a single moment in which I felt that the racket was doing "something on its own". If my shot preparation and execution was good, the shot itself was good. If my preparation or positioning was sloppy and not perfect, I still got a controlled shot out of it without having to fight overly hard. Contact with the shuttle is crisp and yet very solid. Sweet spot seems to be covering almost the whole stringbed.

And this was how it felt throughout the rest of the evening. I didn't have to put in a lot of thinking about the racket at all. I prepared for the shot, I hit the shot and the Titan made the shuttle fly to where I wanted it to go. The better the preparation and execution of the shot, the better the result. I always felt that the racket was trying to support me instead of waiting for a chance to punish me for a mistake or a sloppy shot. So I would discribe the Titan with one simple word: Honest.

It's slower than a JS10 (well... just look at that massive boxy frame...) but fast enough to pull off some quick defenses. Reaching the backline is a breeze - even in the most unpleasant I-need-to-save-my-butt emergency situations. Again, it's rewarding you for good preparation and technique, but doesn't bite your head off the moment you're a bit late, out of position or hit off-center. In that regard it feels like the complete opposite of the N99... ☠️

The only thing I had problems was to consistently access the promised big titan-power on my smashes. I hit some serious rockets, but a lot of my smashes were in the so-so region. Coming from the JS10 which is all about keeping the swing as compact as possible, I guess I need to re-teach myself to making a bigger swing using more arm and shoulder. Accuracy and angle of my smashes were really good already - so if there will be a bit of speed added later on, that will leave me with truly nothing to complain about. For the moment and for the upcoming club league matches, I will stay with the JS10 as my go-to. I will keep on using the Titan in parallel as often as possible and the see where this will lead to.

Running any racket against the JS10 is extremely unfair, especially with regard to speed - the JS10 is a mutant:p.

Coming off the JS10 was even harder than going onto it, for me!

Took my lightest dry 81g and BP 288 and threw some Ashaway Fire 66 in at 23 lbs plus 3/4 of an overgrip.
Without a doubt the noisiest and hardest hits of the year so looking forward to playing again on Sunday. If I don't
try to kill the bird with everything I have am in good shape now. Going a little lighter and lower bp has put it into the swing
speed range of my normal racket. Much better racket thou and driving back shots are like bullets. Playing nylon at 23 control
was still fine. Absolutely love to try a 78g 285 bp as think it would be a beast. So sticking with my earlier advice of going
with a lighter one than normal. You now add get a lower bp and string down a bit as you can always increase later. cheers

    Hi all,

My monstrous order of Titan finally arrived and that was fast shipping from the UK!!

Packaging was excellent as each head was protected by a bubblewrap envelope. Stringing was perfect as always and waaayyy better than mine. By the way, which knot did you use to start the cross? It seems quite bulky.

All the recipients were very happy with the racket.

Personally, I was reminded of the feelings of my beloved TPro now all alone after being once part of a bunch of 4. Crisp feeling when hitting the shot but I have yet to unlock the magic power of the Titan.

All my thanks to Mark for another awesome job after my many orders :)

    Cheers,
    Florent

Wooot? I only took them to the post office on Wednesday!

The starting knot I use is a multiple version of @john1994's - I just call it the "double-under".

Yep, amazing what a lack of cusoms can do for fast shipping ;)

Thanks, I'll have a look on youtube to see if I can find a nice video. I use a standard starting knot but it seems to slip inside the grommet :(

Yes, but most of the people are not on BC. Asked a few to review the racket, they said they would make the effort in a few days.

Racket was strung with Li NIng No.1 at 30 lbs. First clash with my partner when I am trying to return a smash.

Rest in pieces my Panda Power Titan @.@

Holy cow. Rip. Sorry dude. So what racquet managed to survive against such a strong frame? I'd guess he uses a lot lighter tension.

Again, sorry. Can't have had many outings :(

    Oi. That's "Princess" to you.

I've got a mate in Singapore.... but I'm still enjoying testing it out.

He was using a Z-Force 2. I beleive he used a low tension (22 lbs - 23 lbs perhaps) like you guessed, becuase he is a low beginner level. I broke a Jetspeed 10 earlier this year playing in this group (same scenario). Nevertheless, we are all playing for leisure, so no bad feeling.

Really enjoyed using the Titian for its solid feeling.

The big bad fatty starting bubble-knot made me guess that the mains were done from left to right. I can't explain why you should have such a fatty knot if it's a solid and reasonable 1-piece job.

It screams for beeing done like that, which is no-no practice. No wonder it collapsed.

    Kill me. Just... kill me.

It could be worse, though - Andy Ellis does/did his own rackets this way but with double pulls.
