nope, the 3rd(latest) generation of flats are capable of that now:p

pro designers and gamers never liked the first generation flats.
My co-workers have two 22" monitor side by side, he likes them better than the early flats. He is using two 24" dell flats now.

Same here, I have a 36" crt tv in our livingroom its got a great pic I just got it about a year ago really cheap. They practically give these things away now:D
 
Lol, not really. I just never got the implication of the name. I feel dumb now, haha. As I said to my friend, I had never actually thought much of the dumb show, because there was the more major issue of the creepy gaity of the whole production.

i wasn't implying those rubbery characters, i was implying to the CRT tube and vaccum tubes inside the old tv's. It was my error, i typed tubbies instead of tubies:D

I have a 34" CRT 1080i HD compatible (I have a external tuner) and a 46" Sony LCD HDTV. (By the way, I will not by a plasma and will not in the future) The CRT looks much smoother and brighter. LCD has more functions and inputs. I thief will not be able to move the 200 lb CRT. However, LCD is much easier to move. Plasma has burn-in and half life issue.
To correct some miss info.
2) Major manufactures stop produce less than 40" plasma 2 years ago. Also, most of plasma in 40" or 42" are 720P, not 1080P. So you can not compare the two at that size.
4) Plasma has 175 degree viewing angle. My LCD has 170 degree viewing angle. Does it make any difference since you don't even watch TV at 10 or 170 degree angle anyway?
11) Can your eyes tell the difference between 2ms vs 4ms refresh rate? Does it make a difference when you can not tell the difference? It's like telling a blind man that blue lighter than indigo.
 
LCD, from what ive read and seen, Plasma burns in, not good for gaming, nor for channels which have the same foreground (stuff that doesnt move, like stocks ticker, gaming huds) those burn in. However, not all is bad bout plasma, the contrast ratios are a bit sharper, so on soforth, now the final question is...how much u willing to spend on one

in M'sia, the station providers are just good enough for crt. if you want to watch astro with full hd lcd at 50", it will be just like watching pirated vcd.
to pick either plasma or lcd, is much depending on your other needs.
best, go to the av shop and test view. just dont view their hd dvd or blue-ray, if not, you will go :eek::eek::eek:. come back, switch on, watch normal tv channel, you will go :mad::mad::mad:
 
I have a 9-inch OLED at the office - from Sony.
Pretty nifty stuff, very very sharp and very very expensive :(

..for me, personally, i will not fall into a temptation or buy either of them UNTIL their prices fall off all the way down to a regular CRT's price range..:cool:..Now, if it were to be given to me for FREE, then i'll definitely take it..:cool:
Off topic: Btw, here in the U.S., there will a new rule requiring all existing regular antenna TV(analog) owners to purchase a digital tv converter box; because by early next yr, all of the channels can only be viewed using one of those digital tv converter box.

This is a bit harsh. There should be a certain grace period like 3 to 5 years during which simulcast for both analog and digital be mad eavailable. After the grace period the road to all digital can then be implemented.
