Hi all,

Where to find gosen wpp5300 in Singapore?
I know Bras Basah does not have. Queensway, i am not sure, could find
the newer gosen models, but not the wpp5300. Arctic sports also, not very sure they have. How much is it selling nowadays?

Also, does anyone happen to have a used one for sale?
Let me know the price and condition.

5300 wpp isnt a very old model.

i see alot of gosen rackets priced at usd 105 or MYR 399 .. it's quite standard.
but higher tange like 5300 wpp is +100 MYR ..
anyway 5300 and 6000 is at the same price . it is just different shaft stiffness.

wooops !
i just went oveer to the shop and i think i made a mistake , the myr499 is a limited edition gosen(pro players edition) .. and alll gosen rackets including ur 5300 is priced at myr 399 usd 105 .

This thread shows a comparison of 5300 prices. One contributor claimed to have bought one for RM299 last year. The S$198 price mentioned was posted with no shop mentioned. It's a great racquet. Good luck finding it. If you can find a shop with it in Malaysia, you may be able to save S$100 or so. Can you get to KL and back for that much?

hmm , weird rm299 , possible i guess.

cos the price tag on my gosen roots 5000 ti is MYR399
but he gave me a discount.

MYR 350 with free bg 66
+ karakal nano 180 grip.

and another guy online which has a badminton shop claims he is selling the same racket at MYR330 with same strings and grip + he gives a free gosen tshirt.

hmm ...
anyway , i love this gosen racket . i got the hang of it after 3 weeks playing , and it is true .. u can feel the whip from the gavun shaft and the feel of the racket is excellent , high control .. just love it.

Yeah, well, the same guy elsewhere posts specific details of where he shops in KL. I'm assuming it's the same place where he bought his 5300 for RM299 but one could PM him to be sure.

Thanks for the replies

Thanks for the replies.

No luck with the ebay auction, not a local singapore seller, ship from HK/Macau.

Does any know if queensway or arctic have this racket currently?
And how much is its approx. market price now?

It seems that the 6700 and other 6000 series gosen racket are not armaeth, correct?

If you look at the Japanese website, you'll see the
racket_icon02.gif
logo which is, as seen on the Gosen America site, the Aermet logo. The funny thing is that the logo that is shown below the 5300 but not below the 6000 is the WPP logo, even though the name of the model is elsewhere shown as a WPP model. By the way, there is a online shop in Malaysia that has the 6000 for RM300. That's pretty good considering the MSRP in Japan is 27,300 yen (RM 866)! Is ordering online from Malaysia a pain even in Singapore? Considering that I spent RM 783 on my two 5300's, I might look into ordering one from Malaysia. Presports doesn't have the 5300 though, just the 6000.

well , im from malaysia , and i live very near to kl , i go there every forthnight
. if u trust me , then i dont mind posting it for you .
if u trust me that is . i didnt know gosen rackets are so expensive in japan.

wpp6000 and wpp6700 do not have armaeth

After some research, found out that the wpp 6000 and wpp 6700 do not have armaeth whereas 5300 have.

Anyway, what's the good thing about armaeth?

I'm not so sure what the advantage is. The 5300 seems to have all the gimmicks rolled into one so I've never been so sure what is missing. I have a 2400 and it is missing WPP but it's the softness that I notice with that model.

My wife has the WPP 120, which doesn't have Aermet but I haven't played with it.

By the way, how did you do the research on the 6000? I am wondering whether the WPP 6000 (such as on Presports)
http://www.presports.com/images/gsn_wpp6000_l.jpg
and the BRA-60(6000) on the Gosen Japan website
http://shuttle-house.com/PAGE_top_JAPANESE/MAIL_ORDER/category/GOSEN/RACKET/BRA60_b.jpg
are different racquets. I don't see a 6700 anywhere and I can't see any literature on the WPP 6000 apart from the Presports website.

After doing a few Google searches, I'm not so sure about these racquets on Presports. Gosen only has one website and it has no WPP 6000 or 6700. An old cached Google page from Presports talks of the 6700 but this has since disappeared from the Presports site. Doing a search for "Gosen", "6700", and "WPP" on Google yields hits only on Presports and this forum. I realize the Gosen Japan website isn't foolproof. They don't have the WPP 120 any more although it's still on the Gosen America site. There is nothing there on their Ti series, either, but it seems clear that these once existed.

wpp 5300

I checked at the shops, they have wpp 6000(turquoise blue color) and wpp 6700 ( silver color), both no armaeth written on them, guess japan edition one is different.

i think with armaeth, itis harder and stiffer.

not really sure what aermet does tho'.. its a material used in the frame i guess, something like ti-mesh .. but aermet .. mabe it is to strenghtens the frame.

yeah you're right, Aermet is a High Modulus Carbon Graphite, which makes the racquet stronger and lighter. I bought a non-Aermet WPP 3500 26lbs last year in Malaysia, and the frame was broken just like that, after a semi-light clash with a full carbon racquet. My friends broke his the first week. :crying: I nearly even bought another from www.presports.com I guess I was too excited with the price and the fact that it's 6000.

However, I would still recommend the racquets, but buy the ones with Aermet, or else dont string them too high tensions. I'm awaiting my new Aermet WPP 5300 in a week. These racquets are really well balanced, gives u effortless smashes as well.
