You guys are a tough audience. I took the picture at the HK Open. I visited the stringers in the room at the same time as @Borkya So I was looking amongst the racquets and that one turned up. I have a few other photos of other players’ racquets. I didn’t know he uses G6 otherwise I would have turned the racquet around a bit to look more closely. Have absolutely no idea why it’s a totally new racquet.
My apologies to @Cheung for creating this doubt on your post. But who would have guessed Momota would be using a 4U. Then it can only mean that the AX99 is really as people say, a real sledgehammer.
Ouch!! Your comment hurt me man !! @Quentin11 initially I hated it to be true but slowly, I have started to enjoy it more and more. Now, I don't find it to be head heavy as what I felt when I first picked it up . It has definitely helped me improve my defense and control , although only in singles. When playing doubles, z strike is my calling . I certainly feel you need to play with racket for a while before you start knowing it. Strange thing is I don't enjoy my go to string GT5 on this racket and rather use BG80 . GT5 feels too dull . NAMD doing its magic it seems .
You are right.. I think that is why they are trying it in Asia first this time.. (both as a sponsor and as a seller). They want to get recognition and money. If they can get.. Let's say korea with that kind of money. Maybe... Just nice to see another player (brand) in the badminton world.
Aerobite and these tensions...quite obvious why this racket is new. It's also not uncommon that pros have different coded rackets. At these tensions you can be quickly a goner. Depending where you are on the tour you need backups quickly. I can't remember who, but I also have seen a danish player with a GR coded Yonex racket a few years ago. Could be Gade, but I'm not really sure.
I'm still surprised at 4u. Didn't expect he would change that much (for defense I assume?) from his usual Not uncommon with JOJ using 4u 80ET but still.
