We won!!

Hi Sandy!!

We won against Zhang Wei and Wang Wei with 15/8 15/2.

Kind Regards

Jonas

Sigit and Candra lost? Well, that is a huge disapointment after beating Ha and Kim yesterday. What went wrong, they seem to be very on and off lately, especially after their All England win...

Way to go, Jonas! And quite sensational that Michael and Mattias beat Jens & Martin! Two Danish pairs in the MD semis.

Ng Wai was impressive against the big boys. Chen Hong needed three sets to defect Ng in the All England 2003.

In WS semis Wang Vs Xie.

Xie had an easy walkover in All England when Wang withdrew in the semi-final. Hope that Wang will not give up again in Japan Open. Wang has the tendency of withdrawing when facing Chinese players. She did it both in All England and Swiss Open. I really hope that she will put up a good fight this time.

Ng Wei must have joined the Chinese bandwagon, all major

Chinese players like Lin Dan, Bao, Chen Hong.Chen Yu and Xia

were narrowly defeated by Taufik and for 1 year, no Chinese player has managed

to beat Taufik.

Next player to watch may be Park Sung Hwan , only 18 and playing Chen Hong over 3 sets in Sudirman!

Wow, top 3 Chinese women all out!??!

Is this a sign of shift of power for World Championships or merely just a brief, temporary stop? But, I guess technically in final 4, there's still 3 "Chinese" players left.
Lin Dan is really putting up a show now. Couldn't do squat in last half year's tournaments and suddenly makes it semis of J-Open playing in rubber set every match?
Can Xia pull off an AE-2000 style victory over Taufik or just another routine loss?
Props out to Cheng/Chen in beating Candra/Sigit too!
Well, the the good news is that China still has medal contentions in all 5 events, but the bad news is they've lost some high hopes in a few of those events.

i think someone pointed out that Ha is just recovering from injury. so he may not be in top form. Candra and Sigit weren't in top form in SC, and they may still be at a low. they could have beat Kim/Ha due to Ha. and then Cheng/Chen just capitalized on that.

Lin Dan has also been nursing an injury for the past 1/2 year. but looks like he has recovered. we will see how he fares later on in the JOpen.

neither ZhouMi nor GongRN showed very good form and in general didn't play very good badminton during the SC. look like they are just going through a bad time. if they dont' get their act together again, they will be in trouble durign the WC.
