Hey all, I'm looking to buy a racket that is head-heavy, good for smashing and another that is balanced. Both of them should be stiff. I've been looking at the Astrox 88D and the Duora77 respectively. What should I go for? I'm looking for something that is top of the line. Are there any Victor/Apacs that I should be looking for if money is not a problem?
i'm a head-heavy, stiff person Yonex, your choices are: Astrox 100ZZ, 99 Pro, 88D Pro Victor: Thruster Ryuga 2, F Claw Li-Ning: Axforce 90 Dragon, 3D Calibar 900C for balanced, i have limited knowledge. from what i hear Victor TKF Enhanced is one of the best. Yonex maybe 88S Pro, 77 Pro
I have used Duora 77 _ 4u It's neither stiff nor top of the line. Duora10 would be more close to your specs.
Duora are 2 side frame. For some people who like spinning their racket, its quite bothersome when you hope to hit with box side yet switched to aero side or the opposite.
Between point before serve. I myself also had those habit. Some other player, even some pros also had those fun habit to release tension. For some people its abit anoying to always check his racket face before serve. Or trying to fix their racket face on active rally when they realize they hold it wrong. But i also know 1 or 2 who own Duora & had no problem with it.
Yonex stiff, head-heavy: Astrox 100zz, Astrox 99 pro, Astrox 88d pro, Astrox 77 pro Yonex stiff, even-balance: Duora 10/10LT, Duora Z-strike, Arcsaber 11 pro, Nanoflare 800, Astrox 88s pro Victor stiff, head-heavy: ThrusterK Ryuga, Ryuga 2, Falcon Claw Victor stiff, even-balance: DriveX 9x, Jetspeed 10 and 12, ThrusterK Falcon Enhanced, and Auraspeed Hang, 98k, 90k, 90k ii, 100x Li Ning stiff, head-heavy: Aeronaut 9000c and 9000d, Tectonic 9 and 7c, 3d Calibar 900 and 900c, Axforce 90 Max Dragon Li Ning stiff, even-balance: Aeronaut 9000
Just want to add Duora line is going to be discontinued soon so I don't see the point in getting it. Imo Yonex top of the line for stiff + even balance is only Arcsaber 11 Pro for now
This might be a silly question, but why are you looking for one of each? Are you planning on having 1 for singles and 1 for doubles? Astrox 88D is a very nice racquet. The sound feedback you get from hitting the power shots just right is very enjoyable. Either that or the Astrox100zz would be my recommendation for stiff headheavy Yonex racquets. Be aware that the 100zz can be difficult to time smashes at first. And I found the head heaviness tough to serve with at first. But I've seen a few great players in clubs I play at with the racquet and they have really good control with it as well. Arcsaber 11Pro if you are looking for stiff and even balance. Can't comment on other brands as I haven't tried them out, but I have bought and used the racquets I bolded
i also do this at times as way to adjust how high up the grip or how low down the grip I am holding the racket. So i move up and down the grip as the racket spins
Isn't silly, I also wondered why somebody wants to buy two different rackets at the same time, instead of buying one and see how it turns out. I also thought what "good at smashing" means? There are rackets which work fine for the first or second game, but are not easy on the arm and more demanding and there are some rackets which don't have the biggest boom but you can smash with them the whole night.
I think the reason is simply because you can have a direct access for the comparison. It can be that instead of the racket feeling good vs bad, it is actually more like feeling good vs even better, which is more difficult had you not have the 2 rackets at the same time.
