New color or 2nd batch 99 spec are not much different from 88D. What makes it different is that 99 had full namd on whole racket where 88D only on shaft.
Both are good rackets, yet I do not know the lack of information that you are giving to us to recommend. Also getting a 3U racket doesn't mean it is only for singles, rather the weight that you are used to using for a badminton racket.
