RIO Olympics - non-badminton events

11-9 to Ding Ning as her last winning point touches the edge of the table. She's holding her left shoulder, the playing hand immediately after the match as the tournament official approached her to sign the score sheet.

Wow this table tennis match is so exciting. Once again it is Ding Ning versus Li Xiaoxia in the finals. Like it very much.

Imagine, the WR50 North Korean girl, Kim Song I, who played irregularly at international events is in the semifinals of the Olympics. She will next feature in the bronze playoff tomorrow with the other losing semifinalist, Ai Fukuhara.

The last time a North Korean surprised the world was Kim Hyang-Mi who reached the WS final at Athens'04 and taking silver. Let's see if Kim Song I can go home with at least a bronze, her Japanese opponent, 27-year-old WR8 and former child prodigy is much higher ranked, more experienced and better credentialed than her.

Still, Kim Song I had an impressive run so far, even beating another Japanese WS, the WR6 Kasumi Ishikawa, going the full distance in the earlier rounds. I doubt Ai would dare underestimate her.

Just managed to catch the last 15 mins of the Men's cycling time trial. Fabian Cancellara finally got his Olympic gold, a great addition to his accomplishments and to wrap up for his retirement at the end of this season. very well deserved. Dumoulin came second and Froome yet again came third, barely by a few seconds.

There's an Olympic sport I never could appreciate nor understand and I didn't even bother to find out - sailing.

for me, it is equestrian.
At least in equestrian, seeing horses doing their stunts under the guidance of their riders isn't so bad, for animal lovers, that is.

The other sport I fail to understand is Curling, thank goodness, we don't have it this time. I guess, for some sports, you really have to get involved, play it, to appreciate it. The problem is I don't even want to get to know it, a waste of time.

And among the contact sports, Judo, it's good to learn or practise it, but it's just not entertaining to watch, unlike wushu. Also, Wrestling, particularly Greco-Roman, is not any better, to me.

that has a lot of truth to it.

I used to think swimming/running was boring to watch. until i started doing it and now I have more interests in watching them.

I think the sport for most would be racewalking. I was surprised to find out that's an olympic sport.

How to watch the sailors match live? I was actually trying all sorts of methods and ways. None works for me cannot watch any of the sailing matches live this far. Is there any way for me to watch the sailing matches live? :)

We've a repeat of the LOG'12 Final for the Gold Medal Match, Ding Ning vs Li Xiaoxia.
Yeah, and likely Li XX will get the gold again. Tho I'm rooting for Ding Ning. It's a pity Liu Shiwen missed out on singles once again.
Zhang Jike despite his poor performance lately still get picked for singles, and Fan Zhendong WR2 can only dream his Olympics medal.

Wow good news have arrived. South Korea footballers have advanced to the quarterfinals. Wow so unbelievable. En route to the quarterfinals south Korea won over Mexico and Fiji then draw with Germany. As I looked at the scores I got a shock. South Korea trashed Fiji 8-0. Wow unbelievable. How on earth did they do it? Scoring 8 goals?

Meanwhile now the match of Denmark versus Brazil on ongoing. Brazil is no leading with 4 goals while Denmark goalless. I guess Brazil will win this match easily.

So the quarter finalists for football is out.
