Ok I played on Wednesday night at SHBC. I will give everyone the information so it can help future Shanghai visitors who wish to play badminton here.
The contact person is Miao. She only speaks chinese I think. I found her contact details on www.shbc.cn website. You have to ring her on ........ and put your name on the list for the next game organised.
I went to Xujiahui, about 4 train stops from CBD. Maybe 20mins by train. From there, it is only a quick 5 minute walk to this hotel ....... and you go behind the hotel and the badminton court is there. There are about 6 courts, quite clean, no smoking and the atmosphere was friendly.
The standard is just social, a few players are strong C grade maybe one or two are B grade level. I heard some players come on Sunday and are stronger, but overall its about C grade standard.
All the players there on Wednesday night were asian, some Chinese and some Malaysian I think. It went from 7pm to 10pm and the cost was 50RMB.
Cheers
