    MS - Kento Momota (JPN)
    WS - Akane Yamaguchi (JPN)
MD - Hiroyuki Endo/Yuta Watanabe (JPN)
WD - Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan (CHN)
XD - Wang Yilu/Huang Dongping (CHN)

After two-year absence due to COVID19 related concern, Badminton Asia Confederation primary flagship event resumes in Manila to showcase all Asia's best in six-day competition. The tournament level has been upgraded to S1000 (the winner will pocket 12,000 point), the highest among other continental championships.

Curiosity hanging on the horizon whether Kento Momota will be back on winning way and creates hat-trick considering his dip form recently, far distance from 2019 sterling version. Several opponents that might derail his scenario here comprise of Malaysian ace Lee ZJ, World Champion Loh KY also emerging star Lakshya Sen as well.

Women's singles discipline offering incomplete cast as the Olympic Champ Chen YF and world number one Tai TY opt to miss Asia meet. Japan brings their A team which spearheaded by defending champion Akane Yamaguchi who has quite tricky path en route to last round while second seed An SY likely opposes Japanese players that could be potential rival to shake her strong consistency. Other well-known player to look forward perhaps He Bingjiao who performed excellently in recent S300 tours.

MD last edition beaten finalists the Minions skip this year edition as Gideon still in recovery process after underwent minor surgery on his ankles in Portugal early April. Two-time World Champions Zheng Siwei reunites with his regular partner Huang Yaqiong, CHN strategy to split this partnerships seems below expectation.

p/s: There is something happened in Indonesia. Maybe Taufik told that Ginting and Christie were not the top 10 players. (I used google to read Bahasa, so that I can misunderstand the story.)

So that Ginting will play 101% to prove his ability in this tournament, unlucky Nishimoto will be able to meet Ginting in the second round.

    I'm so worry.

    Vietnam time.

Taufik Hidayat criticized that INA MS performance has declined in this year, some players should reach achievement in S1000 level and contend with top players.

ASG stated in BAC brief press conference that he will seek momentum to awake and redeem his previous lacklustre performance.
    - "I have sweet memories in the Philippines. I competed here twice and was able to deliver victory for Indonesia. Hopefully it'll happen again here. I can't wait to compete soon," said Ginting. -

Badminton Asia has always been like this. Terrible to see that C3 of all court to be shown.

In G2 and G3, Momota never led Chico even for a SINGLE point.

Is he injured or something? Apparently he withdrew from Thailand super 500 event in May

99 Pro 3U with tension of 33x35 was not a smart choice for Momota, especially after the car accident.

Momota lost because he didn't have enough stamina for deciding game. (not only this match but also the match against to Lee Zii Jia in All England and Viktor in Denmark Open)

If I am not wrong, those who are playing at Sea Games can't make it for Thailand open, maybe because there is still quarantine period
