Yonex business so bad until always got warehouse sale?? they monopolise the market for too long before Victor and Li Ning came and took a huge portion of their share...now have to do sales to clear many stocks.. i think this is the first time Yonex is doing such sales and so many models available...
Having warehouse sale doesn't necessarily means business is bad. I believe that even though they sell the racquets at good discount, they are still making decent margin. By having warehouse sale, they can move their old inventory faster to make way for new stock. If you notice, the sales item are older models. Anyway, it is good for the consumers. Bad for the dealers as the prices are lower than the price they are selling at.
I'm happy if so. Just worry it become Nokia after Samsung and Apple. BTW personally as collector i stopped buying brand new yonex racket. The way they dispose their stock make my collection is one ofthe reason.
Nope, this isn't the first time that Yonex is doing warehouse sales. The same can be said for Victor as well though I'm not sure about Li Ning. As teoky has mentioned, it is to clear the old inventory plus a win win situation for both parties. Rackets cheaper = more people buy = more money generated though less profit = more spaces for more rackets production to come in. However, I do think once Yonex has cleared out the old stocks, they probably produce less of the new rackets in the future in order not to keep too much in their inventory.
i agreed partially with you guys, but what makes old stocks? and we are talking about some high end models...i know once a while they will have warehouse sales but not much on high end models and as far as i know, they did it second or third time in Singapore just this year alone?? and in Malaysia, they did it three to four times already... but end of the day, the consumers benefitted from it but not those bought earlier at higher/normal price...
Twice this year. Maybe they are driven by the fast money coming in. When i talked about old stocks, I'm talking about models that have been out in the market for a couple of years. Of course there are exceptions like slow moving stocks even though the rackets may be out for one to two years only. That's why quite a number of the badminton players are starting to stop buying new rackets coz after they will wait to see the next warehouse sales. Heh
yes, some really old dead stocks and some slow moving stocks...to clear their inventory and more fast cash...actual players would love to have more latest models but i am sure Yonex will not dump at low price..
Yup, as mentioned by other forumers, rackets sold in warehouse sale are old stocks (> 1yr+ old). If you refer to the code marked on the rackets, most of them are manufacture around April - August 2012 though i did not check one by one along the tables.
