Strings gives more power as tension drops?

yes. things like lowering the number of strings/density, or making the racket head larger, with claim that it gives better power, is really just the same as lowering tension, and works for ppl who are riding on the "wooden board" side of the curve.

Before I would use a Babolat or something like this big head Astec or Dunlops, I would lower my tension. It just a personal number. If I play 20, 24 or 28 or 32lbs doesn't interest anybody, except my fans. :D

Also the number of string segments have the same effect. A 96 Forza will play much harder than a Babolat at same tension.
It's not that easy though. Most Babolat stringing pattern are more dense around the sweet spot compared to regular Yonex, for example. The Adidas Überschall on the other hand have a wider spacing of the cross strings over the entire stringbed. Even if it's the same number of strings like Babolat, they feel softer.

I know you have a bias against Babolat, but here, they're not the best example. Have you ever tried a Babolat in your favored specs range with your grip and string setup? After having played a lot of different rackets with different stringing pattern and different spacing (mostly cross strings) at the sweet spot, I can tell you that the spacing at the sweet spot makes a much bigger difference than the total number of strings.
