    While it was an early exit for the 5/8 seed, Anthony Clark/Donna
    Kellogg, ENG, runners-up of last weeks All England, who today lost to
    Hwang Yu-Mi/Han Sang Hoon, KOR, 19-21, 21-17, 15-21 the rest of the
    seeded pairings went through to the next round.

    5/8 seed Li Yujia/Saputra Hendri Kurniwan, SIN beat Svetoslav
    Stoyanov/Elodie Maynard, FRA, 21-16, 21-12
    5/8 seed Robert Mateusiak/Nadiezda Kostiuczyk, POL, beat Ross
    Smith/Tania Luiz, AUS, 21-10, 21-16
    5/8 seed Lee Hyo Jung/Lee Young Dae, KOR, beat Koo Kien Keat/Wong Pei
    Tty, MAS 21-17, 18-21, 21-15
    2 seed Xie Zhongbo/Zhang Yawen, CHN, beat Chris Langridge/Joanne
    Nicholas, ENG, 21-11, 21-12

    Other selected matches:
    In a 60-minute, fast-paced match where perseverance really mattered
    Yanmei Jiang/Hendra Wijaya, INA beat Keita Masuda/Miyuki Maeda, JPN, in
    three games - 21-16, 13-21,21-17.
    The two new Danish pairings, Jens Eriksen/Helle Nielsen and Jonas
    Rasmussen/Lena Frier Kristiansen won their first round matches against
    Tim Dettmann/Anne-Katrin Lillie,GER and Abdul Latif Mohd Zakry/Woon Khe
    Wei, MAS respectively.
