Badminton at Belgrave is still on on Thursday night. We have 4 courts 8-10pm, so you can play singles or doubles. It's run on the old pay & play basis, so no commitment but there's always someone to play with. It's a competitive yet social standard, and we're looking for new blood.
Hi, is it a club night on Thursdays? I heard rumours that the sports hall had been done out and they were maybe thinking of opening it up to public use again, do you know of any information on this?
Gents, Not wanting to feel left out I'm also really keen to find a regular game and twice a week would be ideal. Mondays and Thursday best but have some flex there. Used to play doubles every Monday but that was over 5 years ago. Standard was OK I think. I'm 45 now but am pretty fit, mostly running these days as the knees cant handle the football anymore. Will be a little rusty for the first few games but I'm quite competitive so would welcome the opportunity to get better. Happy for you to contact me via dave.watkins66@googlemail.com Dave.
Hi Dave & Lee, It's not a club night as in 'you have to join', it's a regular group that's played for >20 years, obviously with some retirements! We have a block booking with the school but anyone can come and join in. We are a mix of ages and are always happy to see new faces. Helen
Hi Helen, Been away on business but am still keen to play. Just wanted to double-check times as I'd had an email from the council telling me it was 7-9 on a Thursday give Roger Brittle as a contact and your earlier post said 8-10 (I guess this could be two separate groups!). Look forward to hearing from you and hopefully see yu on Thursday. Dave.
Hi AndyI would be happy to have a game too. Recently ( as in today) started playing again after a break of twenty years. Used to be quite good in my teens and keen to start up again. Can play most nights after 8pm, some nights earlier as I also work all over Uk but am reliable. Shout if you want a game
Hi Mike, I'd like to come along and play if that's ok ? Can you just confirm if it's a varied standard and open to all or is it it a high standard (league players only) ? I've never played in a league before but have been attending Nechells in Birmingham on a Tuesday night playing doubles. I am 44 of average fitness and can hold a reasonable game but I'm no pro!
Hi We are also an option for people playing in Tamworth, we already have a couple of team members who live in Tamworth, we are Church Street Badminton Club and we play out of Measham Leisure Centre just off Junction 11 of the M42. you can find all you need to know about the club at our brand new website: http://www.churchstbadminton.co.uk Or message me and I'll happily answer any questions.
