yeh, he was like that in the barcelona olympics... seems like a stroll in the park... he seems relaxed under pressure...

Sheldon, do you have that video on your computer? I'd love to see it!

His lung capacity problem after pneumonia limited ZJH's potential. From then onwards, he was in trouble if extended. Hermawan Susanto, Foo Kok Keong and others exploited this, Foo alone have beaten him 3 times, I think.

But that great disguised delayed drop shot, with wicked curve totally caught other top players flatfooted. ZJH had very strong wristwork.

Carl Lewis??? He never broke any world record. Just won gold because of lack of competitors.

    Arnold??? He admitted using steroid.

Doesn't sound like good comparison. How about MJ in basketball or Babe Ruth in baseball?

    Be like Mike??..

..MJ didn't have much competition either during his heyday w/ da Bulls..and it's arguable also for The Babe as he's probably the father of American Baseball..;)
Perhaps, comparing ZJH to some of the tennis greats would make sense; since both sports are quite similar..

From what I understand, he didn't even have the most dominant record of his era (was it Yang Yang back then?) nor did he snatch the big one (olympics 92). So, I don't think he can be compared to guys like MJ, Tiger et al.

Maybe a better comparison would be Mario Lemieux?

He did dominated for a couple years before he stopped for 1 whole year. That's the time when Yang Yang got his chance and started dominating. Abcdeng summarized very well of what had happened.

Mario Lemieux should be a good comparison. Both are the best at their era, but career cut short because of health problem.
