In short: Look up youtube : rehabiliation stretch exercises ; I found one posted on badmintoncentral not too long ago -You basically extend both arms straight at chest height. Palms up. -Supinate, bring both arms back at full reach slowly. hold, then back. -Repeat the same put pronate this time (so your palms face inward instead of outward) Update: The tyler's twist seems to be the way to go, has proven results backed by studies. Stretches on the other hand are questionable in terms of actual efficacy.
Nice idea, a very novel approach! Seems like it might work by improving bloodflow to the region. I ended up spending $34 on the theraband flexbar as my tendinits condition is getting worse. Its another 2 weeks till it arrives however, so I hope this novel approach suffices till then.
Found another one, though its based on massage and compression techniques ( these aren't verified by studies or proven to work unlike the Tyler's Twist). It seems like a valid solution to me as joints suffer from little bloodflow to begin with. Also Has some good info on what the extensors and flexors are if your new to the subject like I am.
acupuncture .... seems to be the last resort for tendon related pain ..... worked very well for me against achilles tendonitis .....
I would try acupuncture after i run out of other options. It is a concern for me having someone putting needles into my body.
again, acupuncture is quite often the last resort ...... and yes, it is time consuming and you have to find a skilled therapist ..... but helped in quite a lot of cases .... so don´t rule it out ......
Personally ... I think that the issue with joint or tendon healing in general has to do with a lack of proper bloodflow to those regions by design. Most of the rehab exercises have a dual purpose of both promoting more bloodflow to the region and nerve activation. The possible reason as to why acupuncture might be less effective because its a method of symptomatic pain relief ; it does not address the underlying cause of the injury. Mind you, just my own opinion there. What bothers me the most is the dreadful occurence of scar tissue formation
