I hope that Taufik can catch the match. I hope that his mind will be in the court.

Based on TH's recent performance, I would be very surprised to see different result.

 

Agreed especially now Lin Dan has grown more mature and has won 2 World Championship titles. Anyway, this is the time for Lin Dan to prove his worthy #1 title in the world without the help of his team mate. However, I hope Taufik can rise to the occasion. Have a mix feeling where I don't think Taufik can win but want him to win.

 

It could be a thrilling 3-game match, with LD prevailing in the end...the first two games will be tight though.

 

Past few games don't seem to have been so good for Taufik... So I think this time Lin Dan will win. But who knows! Taufik's so unpredictable. Goes up and down all over the show. Might have a seemingly tough game against an average player one day, and then take down a top player relatively easily the next! But I really do expect Lin Dan to win this particular meeting. Cheering for Taufik though .

 

I think Lin Dan would beat Taufik Hidayat, maybe in 3 match games ... but if Taufik will win ... no other way only in 2 straight games

 

I was looking at the tournament software just now and I saw that there's channels that are showing live today......
go to the matches list for today and you will be able to see the channel listed behind the names.

 

Please ask LD first how many sets he prefers to play....Any number of sets will do for TH.

 

honestly, i wish TH to win LD and dethrone him frm world #1... but for now, i think its quite impossible...

Now a day...at least for now...the strategy to beat TH is simple...be patient...drag TH on...for long rallies....dont smash too much....again keep rallying...dont makes too many unforce error....possible make it rubber.....avoid net playing with TH......make sure TH to really work for every point he is earning....then the stamina problem will fail TH.........This strategy have been proven effective in Macau, Chinese Taipei by CJ an Sony...So try it LD...for French Open..hehehehehehehe

I was wondering what both (LD and TH) are thinking and doing now in advance of their showdown...

It will be very interesting to have a pre-match conference with them...asking them how they feel having to meet at the QR....

Paris is a neutral ground for both....

 

Don't discount mental toughness. Though LD's fitness is his advantage (compare with Taufik's stamina), TH is mentally tougher than LD. Though TH have been so often lost to lower ranked players, if he meet LD it'll a different thing. Maybe in his mind, he may lost to any players except his all time "enemy" - the player he want to beat the most.
Anyway, I predict LD should prevail (based on their current forms and performance).

In year of 2007, LD vs TH showdown :

17 January/07 -- MAS SS (1st round/R32) when TH lost to LD with straight games and very tight scores, 19-21 ; 21-23.

02 November/07 -- FRA SS (quarterfinal), still 50:50 chance for both players...

Achievement comparison thus far :
- LD : 4 SS titles (Korea,All England,China Masters,Denmark Open) plus 1 GP (Germany Open) and the prestigious World Champion.
- TH : 1 GP Gold title (Asian Continental Championship)

 

Although Taufik is a good player. But LD is a class higher.. I believe he will win.
