it's better chen yu meet bao cunlai in semi ... i think chen hong will retire soon ... after wc maybe ...
All YOUNG players are inconsistent. It is just that we tend to have double standards when it comes to the chinese young players and expect them to be consistent. And many people, for various mental, social or even racial reasons, tend to prefer the chinese players to lose and somebody else to win.
I hope otherwise. An all chinese final is just as interesting especially when those are good players. I am not racist.
Well..well...a number of surprises in the QFs. First, Firda has done well to push Zhu Lin to 3 sets...taking the first set 21-17 but losing the next two 13-21, 15-21. Overall, it has been a good week for Firda. Both Eriko Hirose and Yao Jie progress to the semi-final as I predicted...but Xie Xing Fang lost to Hwang Hye Youn in 3 tight sets 21-10, 16-21, 19-21. Once more, it underlies the Chinese player's vulnerability under the new system. So, Eriko Hirose will face Zhu Lin while Yao Jie will face Hwang Hye Youn in tomorrow's semi-final. In the XD, Lee Yong Dae/Hwang Yu Mi have proven once more that they are the nemesis of Zhang Jun/Gao Ling by winning 2 out of the 3 encounters in the past few opens. The scores were tight as I expected...with the Korean winning 21-14, 15-21, 21-18. In the MS, 3 Chinese players have progressed. Boonsak failed to go through after losing narrowly 20-22, 20-22 to Chen Yu. Bao Chunlai also lost to Chen Hong 21-15, 19-21, 14-21. Chen Jin did not have any program as he beat Park Sung Hwan 21-13, 21-16. Mohd Hafiz Hashim is the sole non-Chinese players left in MS as he also struggled to beat his fellow compatriot Yeoh Kay Bin in 3 sets 21-11, 16-21, 21-14. He will face Chen Jin while Chen Yu will meet Chen Hong tomorrow. Now, only the WD and MD matches have yet to be completed. One of the WD match is a walkover...Lena Frier-Kristensen/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl went through without breaking a sweat.
