Shaft: 7663839 Cone: 130589IP I already checked via BC and it is valid. There 23 grommets with faulty paint job. From 3 to 5 o'clock and 7 to 9 o'clock. I compared it with my AT700 JP and the JP is just perfect. I wonder is this a 2nd grade racket that was sold in the market.
Your racquet looks like a used racket which was previously strung and had the strings cut. Did you buy it from a reputable shop and did you check the condition before you paid for the racquet?
I asked my friend (newbie) in Singapore to purchase this racket. The shop name is Gala. When I received this racket, its handle is wrap with a tight plastic and the original grip is there when I tear it off. It doesn't seem like being used before to me. I have contacted them via email but so far there is no feedback. Anyway, I just share with u guys. Hopefully this racket is usable and performs to its peak.
so your AT700 is new color version, right ? possible to take a picture of whole unit ? also the grommet at the top of frame ? thanks
The sticker on the bare wood of the handle of your racquet says SP (third photo from bottom). An IP racquet should look as such:
I talked to Winston of MBS and he told me that the IP coded racquet are mostly originally produced meant for Sunrise distribution but as according to what kwun said, the racquets are branded "IP only" when there's really no further demand for these extra racquet in the SP regions. This usually happens at least two to three years from the first production of a particular model (of course provided that the racquet model is not discontinued within that time). This naturally means that the IP only coded racquets produced right before the model is discontinued are significantly more rare than the SP coded ones. These models include the 1st gen AT700, AT800, NS9000 and also the 1st colour models of NS8000, NS7000 (the 2nd colour models too if the IP coded ones exist, have not seen one personally) and Arc7.
I knew a former pro player (who retired and was ranked within the top 8 and was ranked #1 onee) who was on the circuit and trained under her for a while. When I asked her about coded rackets, she knew know anything about it. She decided to pull out all the rackets of her Arc7s she had. What was there was was IPs with no holes and CP.
couple weeks ago i found 1 MP99 with "IP" coded in Beijing. The shop has a high reputation & the owner said that MP99 is one of the very few rare MP99 today. If i remember correctly, the owner priced MP99 more or less at the level of price with LiNing N77, N70 II, N50, N50 II, & N55 II. I am now considering whether i should buy this MP99 with "IP-coded" or buy Lining racket. Some advices will be appreciated. PS: I had YY racket from 2001 ~ 2005, (Cab21 & MP30 only) then from 2005 until now i never had any YY rackets since they are easily broken once clashed & too many fakes available in the market. I own N50 and pretty much in love with it. But rare MP99 on the shelves?? that's quite temptation!
Sorry for bad typos in the original post. She did not know anything about racket codes. All her racket are 3Us. Also she had a bunch mix of Yonex clothing (JP models and others).
If you are going to keep it as collection or play singles (don't frame it if strung at high tension), then buy it. If you are going to play doubles...be very careful at the slightest clash specially at high tensions.
