    Yea, sorry about that, there must be some miscommunication with the webmaster. The correct dates are as follow:
    Saturday April 23 -> Singles and Mixed
    Sunday April 24 -> Doubles

    The bay area open is being held the exact same weekend (same days). I enjoy the Davis Open, but I dont really see how you can compete. How do you think you will do?

    We don't know, but we have no choice since the gym is completely booked so we can only use the time slots reserved for us.

    Sorry to hear that, maybe the coordinators of the tournaments can get together and resolve time conflicts for next fall and the future, seeing how there's so much overlap in terms of audience.

    Tournament Dates Overlap

    We, the Bay Area Open committees, would like to apologize for any inconveniences in regards to the tournament dates that are overlapping. We have announced our tournament in January after we researched our dates through all the club websites. At that time, UC Davis websites was not available for access for over couple of months.

    We do not want to host tournament on the same date because it will cause a split between the players and the tournament hosters. Likewise, we would like as many people as possible to participate in our tournament. Thus, competing for date is not our intention and we hope that UC Davis Badminton Club does not see us that way. We have researched our dates carefully and announced it ahead of time, in this case almost 4 months prior to the tournament. We are sad that somehow the date coincide with UC Davis Spring Open this year. Furthermore, since SJSU has confirmed the date and asked us not to change it and since we have informed our sponsors, Yonex and other companies, about the tournament date, we cannot change our dates.

    Again, we apologize for any inconvenience our tournament has caused UC Davis Badminton Club and will try to communicate better, e.g. contacting each club officers in the Norther California area, in the future to avoid this problem from repeating again.

    Sincerely,
    BAOpen committees
