    In addition to the fall of 2 seeds, there was :
    3) HK’s CHAN Tze Ka (WR#204) beat Thailand’s CHANSRISUKOT Soratja (WR#58) , 7-21 21-19 21-19

    MD

    1) Taiwan’s Chang Feng Chin/Tseng Chung Lin (not in BWF ranking list) beat China’s HE Hanbin/SHEN Ye (WR #64, 5th seeds) 21-18 9-21 21-17

    2) China’s Chai Biao/Liu Xiaolong (not in BWF ranking list) beat Taiwan’s LIAO Min Chun/WANG Chia Min (WR#121). I was told that the China MD is the 2008 Asia Juniors semi- finalist in MD.

    WD

    1)China’s Wang Si Yun/Zhang Jinkang (both not in BWF ranking list yet) beat HK’s MONG Kwan Yi/NG Ka Shun (WR# 78, 4th seeds)

    2)Msia’s Ng Hui Lin/Woon Khe Wei (WR#180) beat Taiwan’s CHIANG Kai Hsin/TIEN Ching Yun (WR#80)

    XD
    1)
    China's Xu Chen/Zhao Yun Lei
    beat INA's AHMAD Tantowi/YULIANTI (CJ)(WR#47, 2nd seeds) : 21-16 21-14. The China pair is a new partnership, not in ranking list. Xu Chen was partnered with Zhao Ting Ting bf this.

    2)
    Msia's Mak Hee Chun/Vivian Hoo(WR#174)
    beat their seniors Chan Peng Soon/Amelia Anselly(WR#145, 3rd seeds) : 19-21 21-18 22-20

    SO, Upsets for the day = 2 MS, 3 WS, 2 WD, 2 MD, 2 XD = 11 total for Day 3.

    MS = 5+2 = 7 so far
    WS = 3+3 = 6 so far
    MD = 1+2 = 3 so far
    XD = 3 +2 = 5 so far

    In matches where both pairs are new pairs or new partnership, i.e. changed partners -> therefore no BWF ranking. It could not be determined where the pairs stand, so not counted.

    2)

    beat Taiwan’s LIAO Min Chun/WANG Chia Min (WR#121). I was told that the China MD is the 2008 Asia Juniors semi- finalist in MD. The scores = 21-12, 21-11

    WD

    1)China’s Wang Si Yun/Zhang Jinkang (both not in BWF ranking list yet) beat HK’s MONG Kwan Yi/NG Ka Shun (WR# 78, 4th seeds)The scores : 21-8, 21-12

    GP Gold tournaments are good for less experienced players to introduce themselves

    .
    Agree ... Thanking eaglehelang for doing the research for us.

    The GP Gold tournaments are really good for less experienced players/pairs to come out to show/introduce themselves to us on the world stage.

    The new partnership won Macau GP Gold, a pair to watch in future.

    Upsets for Finals are in brown.

    10 for MS, 8 for WS, 3 for MD, 7 for WD, 9 for XD = 37 upsets throughout the tourney.
    Yesterday's total upset count for WD is incorrect, I forgot to count in Day 1 & 2.

    And.......... congrats to all winners....... till next time.

    eaglehelang ... Thank you for listing/reporting all the upsets. :):):)

    I just came back from my usual day at Badminton to read your report. I just don't have the time to do what you've done. :eek:

    Agree with you ... Zhao Yunlei is the one to watch out for in future tournaments.

    Taufik's won over LCW not really an upset for me...coz they have long history of head to head...so each player know what to do and to expect....and esp i've been waiting Taufik to emerge as a champs again...so im glad its finally done...but call an upset based on WR and recent perform of TH..i think thats fair enough...

    Certainly is an upset, especially in straight sets, I don't think TH has beaten LCW recently...
