I was quite firm in getting a 4U JS10, to see if it can add something slightly different to my rather heavy 3U BS12, in terms of better speed with it's lesser weight perhaps. To see which suits me better. Just hope I won't end up following Ch1k0's path and trade for a 3U later...
Oh don't think too much man. I'm the type that just prefers to play 3U because the weight is a comfort zone for me which I've long trained and grown used to.
Yeah tks! I think I won't know until I try it personally. Maybe I'll end up trading my 3U BS12 for a 4U thereafter
You can get an instant speed and/or power increase by getting a 4U that has the same headweight as your 3U. No point having weight where it doesn't do anything.
I like the overall feel of my 3U BS12 so I'm hoping the 4U JS10 has similar weight distribution, feels lighter overall but just with a slightly stiffer shaft.
Weight distribution isn't even the same tbh. This is coming from an age old BS12 user. It's easily a level stiffer and the head weight can clearly be felt being more focused towards the top.
Well you don't need to hope, as that is what you will get. The only thing I will forewarn you, is the slight lack of feel you will get from the JS10 coming from a BS.
Tks Ch1k0 and R20190! In a nutshell I shld be expecting a much stiffer shaft and more concentration of head weight on the top of the frame, instead of at the T-joint like the BS12. And ya be prepared to lose a bit of feel.
Quick and short review: Previously using BS 12. After read some reviews here. finally get my JS10, 4U. First feeling. Fast swing, less drag. Hitting from rear court, very easy generate power and fast. Because of smaller frame and faster swing, easily hit the frame if missed the timing. At the beginning, I tried to use a lot of arm force to hit the birdy. It will lost the hitting power very much. After few hits, i tried with more wrist swinging and relax. The hitting feel great, more fast. Now become my favourite racket. BS 12 as my back up
Depends what you mean by faster. Aerodynamically faster or in terms of lower mass to accelerate. Aerodynamics are more important the faster the racquet travels - so you feel the benefits generally on long, fast strokes. Low mass is mainly beneficial for shorter, slower strokes such as in defence. In my opinion, braveswords remain aerodynamically faster then the JS10, so during smashes/clears etc there is less drag. But because the JS10 being 4U (generally) has less mass to accelerate, it is quicker to manoeuvre in say defensive shots. That's not to say there's a lot in it.
Stringing black strings on my black machine is my highlight (drunk after a bunch of Hülsenfrüchte und etwas Parliament. ).
