Couple of older members at my club have old cool looking hard cases. These look like old suitcases, made from fibreboard. I like this look, they seem to have room for 2 racquets, plus shoes at a squeeze, and other bits n bobs. Neither can remember where or when they originally got them. Anyone else know where I can start my search? Where these originally made as badminton cases? Or were they originally intended for something else maybe. They look made for badminton as they fit the racquets quite snugly.
wow... this looks like a case from world war 2 era the logo looks abit like the old british army or air force ... very cool... but think hard to find...
think they will help u call ambulance... cos they think u have played badminton until u have gone nuts.
Gotta love the lock and the steel re-inforced corners. That thing was meant to last! It would survive crowded subway rides, airport baggage handlers, and would be handy to 'accidentally' whack the shins of that really annoying guy with the congenitally-impaired-line-call disorder. (You know him. He's at every club.)
I actually looking for one, but it is very hard to find the one with plastic case also fine (no need for iron or steel) found some but it is for rifle gun (and the suitcase does not match for a badminton racket, either too short or too small)
If you were looking at rifle cases etc., you might expand your search to used saxophone cases (if you hollowed the molding, an alto case could probably fit rackets, birds and shoes). Or maybe an Army surplus store might have something you could convert. If you were really serious (and rich) you could consider buying from a custom case making company like this: http://www.flambeaucases.com/index.php?p=product&pid=1353&mid=2 (they have an office in Kent).
Yeah that picture was an old army one. Is actually for sale on ebay australia. Good idea to search for sax and rifle cases. Violin cases look like they also might be good. Had one other find for a hard aluminium case. Minimum order 200 pieces though! Will keep looking. Would be cool if I actually could find a badminton branded one.
Great that this is already in motion. I was actually considering a UTG http://www.amazon.com/UTG-Covert-Ho...e=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1264144229&sr=1-1 Can't solve the shoe issue though. Was also looking at violin cases but can't get the right type and its more expensive. Kinda tired of all the new fangled Yonex and Lining bags. They look and perform great but i'd sure like the feeling of drawing my racquet out of a gun case.
Juz go to the thread on Victor Meteor X 2012 London racquet...the case is wat u looking for....cool bag in gloss black hard casing
or you can drop by your local private art college and have an industrial design student custom make one for you. i went to an art school and students there could build this sort of case easily.
